Filling Out For AOS: Changing Names?

Dear All,

My husband to be and I are getting married in a few days and we are filling out the documents for AOS.

I have two questions for you guys:

1) Since I want to take his family name, do I have to fill out the I-485 Package documents with his family name in place of my maiden name?

2) As I would like to keep my maiden name in my name, is it possible to fill out the I-485 Package documents with my maiden name as my middle name?

Thank you so much in advance for your help,

Let's just say it goes as follows.

Name: Lucia MN: lynn Maiden Name: Pivot Married name : Smith, if you want that to be your name keeping your maiden name, you would file as follows: Lucia Lynn Pivot Smith. Make sure your maiden name goes first.

And o. Other names used write your full maiden name.

Thank you very much for you answer and example.

Well, in my case, I don't have a middle name:

Example:

Name: Jane - Middle Name: / - Family Name: Smith = Jane Smith

After getting Married to my husband: Married Name: Johnson

Filling out for AOS:

Name: Jane - Middle Name: Smith - Family Name: Johnson = Jane Smith Johnson

if the marriage certificate, issued after the marriage,

contains 'the new name'

then changing up the name via the USCIS forms is very easy.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
