It's a nice way to remember the year...

1.) Where did you ring in 2006?

At a nice restaurant/bar with my husband (well, he was still my fiance then!). His first New Year's celebration in the US!

2.) What was your status by Valentine's Day?

I was a married woman by Vday!

3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)?

Nope, just some online course. They don't count.

4.) How did you earn your keep?

analyst at an insurance company.

5.) Did you have to go to the hospital?

Not for me, but went for my husband who broke his toe back in June.

6.) Did you have any encounters with the police?

Not this year!

7.) Where did you go on vacation?

No big vacations in 2006. Went to the White Mountains in NH with my family - our annual retreat.

8.) What did you purchase that was over $500?

New car, computer.

9.) Did you know anybody who got married?

Yes, me! Didn't go to any other weddings though.

10.) Did you know anybody who passed away?

My husband's grandmother, and my step-mom's mom passed away this year.

11.) Have you run into anybody you graduated high school with?

Invited two high school friends to my wedding, so yes.

Yup, we moved towns in September.

Just to see Wadi's soccer games mostly. We did also catch a Celtics/Warriors game way back in January.

I went to see Nanci Griffith and the American Idol tour concert. Oh, and Wadi and I saw David Copperfield!

Yes.

No, I'm still registered to vote in the wrong state.

A new car, a new couch, a computer, washer and dryer, an engagement ring, a plane ticket, a fee for a needed document for Susie, Susie's plane ticket here, a new TV, attorney fee (not for visa), a new roof on the house and a new garage door (thanks Katrina!). I think that just about covers it, though I'll probably remember one or two more things later. All were paid for with cash except for the car, which I still owe on.

Editing and really, really weird odd jobs like airport security badging and on-call legal secretary

Yes. The NYC police gave me a summons in the subway because I paid and then went through the wheelchair door with my suitcase, as everyone else ever does. I guess this is a high crime. You're supposed to first attempt to get the suitcase through the turnstyle, and then when the police see you struggling, you can proceed to the wheelchair door. They also fined my friend.

Santa Catarina, Brazil, and Buenos Aires and São Paulo later, and then New York

an apartment broker's fee in New York

Yes two high school friends and a family friend and a coworker

Nobody too close, thank god

All the time this year, but mostly on purpose. Some of my best friends are from those days.

Yes, back to Minnesota, and made the arrangements to move to NYC

A bunch. Los Hermanos in Argentina and Gogol Bordello in Minneapolis were the best.

I spent it in the Buenos Aires free dental emergency room waiting in line for dry socket treatment.

Live at home again for six months. But it's almost over!

Going on vacation four days after emergency wisdom teeth removal and ending up with dry socket and infection (but I only sort of regret this because it meant I got to have Rey take care of me)

My mom took my husband and me out to dinner at a nice French restaurant. Then, that weekend, we had a party for Amed and me (his birthday is 6 days after mine). We had about 35 people, Mexican food, margaritas, and a terrific time!

Cut off contact with an old friend.

Not being more organized.

I got everything I could possibly want. Good health, great family, nice place to live, wonderful husband. More of the same!

Well, Amed, of course! And, my sister is finally pregnant after 2 miscarriages and years of trying! Baby due in March.

Two months are tied- April, when Amed got here, and November, when we were married and had our honeymoon.

Yes, unfortunately, several. I've gotten at least 2 tickets this year and was part of an unfortunate bachelorette party gone wrong...

Getting way too deep into debt, but it's all good because it's about to end.

Bring Javier home-in fact, it was my New Years resolution for 2006.

Ooops apparently I misunderstood this question...I read it as one thing you thought you would do but never did...so my answer was inaccurate as I have not yet brought Javier home. So to answer the question:
