Hello everyone,

My fiance (beneficiary) is getting paperwork together for in time for the interview. He lived in Italy for a few years and one of the requirements states that a police certificate is needed when living in a country after age 16 for more than 6 months.

Does anyone know how to obtain a police certificate from Italy fast? Is there an online way to do it? he is not in Italy any longer so going there physically will be difficult.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

First off... It is Italy..... NOTHING is fast! Now with that out of the way.... The forms you file can be found at http://www.giustizia.it/giustizia/ Now you can supposedly go to the closest italian consulate, but good luck with that as they are not known to be especially helpful. But it is possible to apply using these forms, paying the fees and they will mail, them. Did I mention nothing in italy is fast?

Can also look at the info here... http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/IT.html

In Italy there are 2 certificates, the Certificato GENERALE del Casellario Giudiziale and the Carichi Pendenti. When filling out the form for the Casellario Giudiziale make sure that you request "Generale" as there are a few options.

Here is the link to the form: http://www.giustizia.it/resources/cms/documents/modello3.pdf

Thank you for your help...I really do appreciate it. :)

Does anyone know if they will allow a family member who lives in Rome obtain this info for him instead of him going there to get it?

Yes, someone else can do it for him. If you look at the bottom of the police form, it talks about using a delegate.
