Biometrics on a Federal Holiday

Hmm... I just realized that tomorrow is a Federal Holiday, yet somehow I have a biometrics appointment scheduled for tomorrow. I wish I had thought of it earlier and called ahead to double check. Oh well. I haven't received any other letters, and even the USCIS status website references the letter that I have.

What are the odds that they're actually open tomorrow? I'm sure I can sort it out eventually, but it just sucks if I have to make the trip to The Bronx for nothing...

Take the letter tomorrow and go back to complete the biometrics. If you wait for USCIS to reschedule, it may take another 30 days..

Of course they were closed... Just a note saying that I will be mailed a new appointment time. It would have been nice to get the new appointment letter BEFORE my first appointment...

Make sure you take the bio letter when you go tomorrow!

As Nimaan said don't wait for the USCIS take your letter and go back tomorrow. Tell them you want a walkin biometrics. Waiting on the to reschedule will put you again behind the line, you wait and then get scheduled. Ain't nobody got time for that (YouTube the last sentence, you will find a video watch it) lol. Good luck.

Good to know... same happened with me. I didn't have time to do a walk-in yet but might try it based on yours successful attempt. It's SO dumb they scheduled it wrong. I mean, really? Didn't they input these dates in their system? I thought I was being lucky having been scheduled for a holiday LOL....

Done today - 05/09/14! It's been a long journey... that I was more than ready to be done with it...

N-400: (Eligibility criteria: 5 years) - took 4 months, 27 days (148 days)
12-13-13: Eligibility Date
12-13-13: Application Sent

12-17-13: Received/Priority Date
12-19-13: NOA Date
12-20-13: Check Cashed
01-02-14: Bio Letter Sent Date (long time... not a good idea to send application before holidays...)

01-07-14: Bio Letter Rcvd'
01-20-14: Original Bio Date -- duh. they booked me on a Federal Holiday and the center was... closed.
03-07-14: Actual Bio Date (walk-in)

03-11-14: In line for Interview

03-12-14: Interview letter
04-17-14: Interview - Passed. Phew!

04-23-14: Oath Ceremony queue | scheduled (both at the same day)

04-26-14: Got Oath Ceremony letter in mail

05-09-14: (Friday) Oath Ceremony. Done! + Applied for US Passport Book & US Passport Card (expedited)

05-23-14: (Friday) American Passport Book received (via Priority Mail) after 2 weeks

05-27-14: Received back original Naturalization Certificate + American Passport Card in the mail (weirdly did not receive USPS tracking notifications for that)

mikkopel - which center took you? Was it in NYC? Varick St. perhaps? Please let me know, I might try a walk-in tomorrow for the same reason.

No, it was the one in Westchester Ave in The Bronx. I had someone else PM me, and they were able to do a walk-in successfully as well. I can kinda understand the mistake, since MLK Day is not on the same date each year, but what I don't understand is how either no-one realized the mistake, or if they realized the mistake, didn't take any steps to notify of the changed date... I never got a letter with with the new date.
