I submitted I-130 to sponsor my mom and dad to come to US to live. I'm a USC. I submitted the applications on January 14 and saw they cashed my check on January 18. I read through different forum as well as the Department of State website regarding to consular processing. However, can you guys give me step by step process? When I should fill out which forms etc? Should I ask my parents to prepare police record ahead of times etc.? I like to hear from personal experience rather than reading on the website. Thank you so much for your time.

Should I fill out form DS-3032 and ask my parents to sign it? I will take time for them to mail it back to me. On the top of form DS-3032, it said "Please case the barcode strip here before mailing to NVC". What does that mean? Does it mean I have to wait for the NVC to send me DS-3032 with the barcode or should I do it now? Thank you for your help.

hi

first of all, did you send 2 i130s? parent's petitions are filed separately, there are no derivatives. each one will be filed separately. and also you have to wait until the i130 is approved and sent to the NVC, it will be several months for that, maybe 5 to 7 months or more

read the guides to be familiar with the process

Suggest you get on a PC, come back and read in THIS Sub-Forum, when you can make the time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

@Aleful: I sent two applications one for my mom and one for my dad. I want to prepare ahead of time for all require documents to speed up the process.

@Darnell: I read all the process from various post. I have a pretty good idea what I should do. However, I want to check with people that went through the process to check if I understand right. That's the whole point of this forum right?

The police report should NOT be done too far ahead of time. It is time sensitive. It is only good for 6months Who knows how long your case will be at the USCIS office. What we did was wait for our approval at USCIS then went to get the police report. There is 2-4 weeks for your case to be transfered between USCIS and NVC. SO this is a good time to get the report done then can send it to NVC after your fees have been paid and they are ready for you to mail them your paperwork.

but but - folk here already documented what they did, prior to your post, in other posts.

ds-3032 and ds-230 no longer used.

ds-3032 replaced by online form ds-261 and ds-230 replaced by online form ds-260. It's cool, you have some time to study at the NVC website for the next stage.

I like to hear from personal experience rather than reading on the website.

This is a Do-It-Yourself website. It's not a Others-Do-It-For You because you are too lazy to read and do the research yourself.

If you want the process spoon fed to you and have someone else do the work, then you need to hire an attorney to file for you.

The answers to your questions are on this website, you have to read if you want the answers. Many people have already posted their personal experience.

Don't expect people to give you a roadmap when you are too lazy to do the work and rather have others do it for you.
