Any Way to Find Out if Consulate Letter Was Sent to Fiance?

We are at the stage where NVC issued its letter that the file was forwarded to Manila. We got that by snail mail 2 weeks ago and dated 3 weeks ago.

This should be right around the time that the Manila consulate issues the invitation letter to my fiance. My concern is that her home address is in a remote province of Ballesteros, not exactly the type of mail delivery service I have confidence in.

RIgnh now she is working in Hong Kong. This is not a problem as her family members are highly responsible and will notify her immediately when the consulate letter shows up back home.

What is the problem is that i don't want to bet this whole thing around the reliability of some third world mail delivery service in a remote province. I was there at her home last July, and it is seriously in the middle of nowhere.

To make matters worse, the Hong Kong polce will not release the necessary police records without seeing the consulate letter, so there is no way around actually obtaining the letter.

Is there some way I can mointor progress on the net or through a phone number to determine if the letter has been issued? I had no success seeing anything on the embassy or consulate web page that might tell me this.

none of that is important.

instead, set up account at ustraveldocs.com

pay the fee

then self-schedule.

later, you'll have appointment letter,

and it's THAT you can take in to get a medical exam.

OR

You find Hank_ 's Handy-Dandy, Neeto-Keen(yet SPIFFY) Guide to Manila IV SuperFast K-1 visa chasing,

and read it,

then read it again

and read it some more

as

it's going to be yer Bible for process, these next 3 months.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Sorry to hear that. I lived in the metro area and never got the letter from US Embassy Manila. As with the advice of Hank's website and other senior VJs, I didn't wait for any letters and just went to pay for the Visa etc. Here's the guide: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

Here's the letter that USEM sends out: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf

You may also try emailing them at: IVManilaReplies@state.gov

Here's a thread about the same concern posted on the USEM Manila Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/manila.usembassy/posts/10150715864974623

Good luck!

Thanks but I have already read all that stuff and in fact have already sent her sister to a BPI branch in Philippines to pay the fee, after which time we will go onto that site and grab an interview date.

But I still have to deal with the Hong Kong police, who want the invitation letter before they willl issue police clearance.

Do they send a confirmation letter once you schedule the interview? That might keep the bureacrats in Hong Kong happy.

Can I please hear from those who used Manila as to whether the lletter was sent and how soon you or your fiance received it?

I know we dont need it to set the interview. We already paid the fee and can get on the website now to set the date.

But we need that letter to get the HK police records.

your fiance should write a letter to us hong kong embassy, telling them she would like her file transfered to us embassy hong kong and have her interview there, due to employment obligations and unable to return for the interview, medical is alot faster and interviews are alot faster, she will have to summit her hk id and her contract and the file is transfered to them,

Thanks and we thought about that, but it is actually not a problem. Not only can she get the time off to go to Manila; her employer will even pay for her plane ticket. He is a generous man who has even offered to pay for my hotel if I choose to vist her in HK.

The problem is simply one that I need to monitor when the consulate letter goes out out to make sure she gets it.

But thanks for the response.
