Hi everyone! smile.png Just sort of introducing myself, and looking to make friends/contacts with other people with similar cases. My name is Melissa (but everyone calls me Mia). I'm a U.S. citizen, born and raised. I just married my Egyptian husband on January 9th, 2014. So VERY new bride! lol. We both live together here in Pensylvania, USA. But since his futre plans have changed (thanks to me coming along smile.png ) we want to file for his adjustment of status from non-immigrant, to immigrant. Our story is on my profile, don't wanna write a book here, lol.

Hi ! Click the flag under yer name,

study a bit.

Not see the flag, you say? Come back on a PC.

LOTS of great stuff in the Egypt Portal, but you have to click something to get there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I am married to an Egyptian who lives in Saudi. I see someone on here who has almost the same timeline as me just got there Visa this January!!!!!! Mabrooooook. We applied i130 in august of 2012 he had his interview in july of this year and we just passed the 6 month mark in administrative processing. I am really looking forward to my husband being here soon. I am going in a week to see him but I just feel like I don't want to come back because it tears my heart out every time I leave him and I have a lot of issues going on already at home I am relocating to a new state and city by myself and I have never been alone like this... Please pray for us....... I don't know how much more of this I can take before I just throw everything I have worked for away and move overseas... (which he is not opposed to)

SaedyWife -- I hope he will be with you son. I know its far easier said than done, but tr to be patient. Otherwise any time or money you have already spent preparing for this will have been for nothing, because you could have just moved overseas to begin with... I'm sure when he is with you, it will all be worth it

Our story is on my profile, don't wanna write a book here, lol.

Just read your story and it made me cry. I'm so happy you found each other and I hope the adjustment of status doesn't cause too many headaches!

I got out of an abusive marriage and met my sweetheart a few months after I'd legally separated. I'm amazed every day at how good he is to me, at his devotion and loyalty, and how kind he can be to me. It's surprising every day after 13 years in a horrible marriage to see that I am lovable and "whole." I was cleaning my kitchen about an hour ago and thinking about how we fight and disagree with each other all the time, but it's never an attack. It's never personal. And it's always followed up with reassurances that we adore each other and are committed to each other. I smiled thinking about how civilly we can "fight" with each other and never harbor bad feelings. It's natural with different cultures, languages, religions, etc. to have a lot of things to work through, but the important thing is that we just keep working at it and never love each other less because of it. Do the rest of you struggle with differences in culture and language? I think it's natural and not a big deal. Every relationship requires a lot of work and commitment. :)

From Sacramento, CA here! Married my Egyptian husband May 2013 in Cairo, Egypt. Left next day back to USA due to college finals AND graduation. We talk on a daily basis of course and Skype once every 2-4 weeks. Still going through the process of an I-130.
