So yesterday my fiance tells me to go with him to Santo Domingo to have his medical done, he doesn't like leaving me alone here and at the same token I wanted to be there supporting him. We wake up at 4am and take the bus to the capital we get there at about 8:30am as we approch the building the policeman at the door asks if we have appointment letter we say yes, he asked if we both needed medical exam; I stated no that it was only my fiance. He told him to get in line and he told me I was to wait either across the street or in the corner on the right side of the building. I was so scared to be by myself on the streets of Santo Domingo and even worse I waited over six hours... my suggestion is don't go!

Yeah...unless it is the interview everything else they can do on their own. And actually that area of Santo Domingo is not bad. Nothing to be scared of. Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey!

That's a long time to be alone regardless of how good the area is. Time clicks slowly when you're alone. My fiancé was only there for 2 hours but we were at the embassy for 6!!

Yea... you don't want to do that. They only allow the patient in for the exam. I'll add this to the NOA2 page so no one makes this mistake again. I can't remember what's near the Medical office, but I would have definitely tried to catch a taxi to the nearest mall or movies or something. Waiting 6 hours is nerve-wrecking.
