Hi, I have my interview soon. Just wondering, will the way I got engaged be a problem?

We just decided together after talking that we were ready to get married (we've been together years and knew we wanted to be married early on, we were just waiting for the right time with money and everything.)

Of course I am going to be totally honest at the interview, I just wanted to know if it could cause me to have trouble there when they ask how I proposed. I'll basically have to say "we had been wanting to get married for a long time and after talking about it last year we just decided together it was the right time".

Thanks

Let me know how it goes, my fiance and I were the same way. Neither of us are overly romantic, and our "proposal" mostly consisted of an adult conversation of confirming we want to spend the rest of our lives together. lol

Our "proposal" was simply a part of a conversation as well, but the big shocker was 2 days later when he pulled up in front of a jewelry store and insisted on buying a ring- and the one that we both really really liked actually fit-that was the unforgettable moment for both of us. Hmm, I bet those interviewer guys could tell some interesting stories!

This was the same situation for my (now) husband and I. Neither of us formally proposed to one another - we just knew that we wanted to get married and didn't worry about an engagement ring either.

It so happens that I was asked point blank 'how did he propose' by the IO at the interview (nearly fainted on the spot because I was worried about it also) and I just told her the truth in that there was no formal proposal - it wasn't an issue and she didn't appear overly surprised either.

Hope this helps quell your nerves. All the best for your interview and have a fantastic week!
