Copy of immigrants Birth Certificate AND passport pages ?

Hello !

Does my wife need to include in her package for Adjustment of Status a copy of her birth certificate TRANSLATED (it is in hebrew) .....

or can we just include a copy of each page of her passport ??

the guide on this site says AND/OR ....

however the forms seem to indicate we need BOTH for sure ...

anyone know ? thanks,

Are we talking AOS from K-1, K-3? or AOS from another type of visa?

AND/OR has to do with US Citizen's Passport AND/OR Birth Certificate.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

According to that guide,

for the I-130 we need:

7. A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate and/or passport along with English translation. (If in any language other than English)

for the I-485:

both of those say AND/OR ....

is the guide wrong ... or do we only need to make a copy of her passport.

I'd appreciate anyone who can actually help instead of pointing me to the guides without actually reading them.

Hi Kristopher, I would include both ( passport and birth certificate) At my green card interview the interview as to see my birth certificate (because he could not make out my birth date from the copies I send whne I mailed my AOS package) The also asked to see my passport. So I think they need to see both and have copies for both for there records. Good luck

Don't go by that guide, get the instructions from the application itself and follow those. The guide also says to include a certified copy of the marriage certificate for the I-130 when a photocopy is good enough, so they may not be current.

I looked it up. You are required to submit a birth certificate (unless not attainable).

We got and RFE for the BC. We thought the passport was okay and it was not.

We translated Lucero and Angelica's BC ourselves and had no problem. We used Microsoft Word and made it look as much like the original as possible. We didn't even put the comment on the bottom about the translation being accurate.

great -- thank you all so much for your help. now we just have to find a translator (her birth certificate is in hebrew) ..... hope its not too expensive ... has anyone else had to get a translator for this ?

15 Sept 08 Application returned erroneously K2 not within 90 day timeframe

17 Sept Mailed 3rd application with mountains of proof of error copied Senator Mel Martinez

09 October 4th application package sent. This time they said the app signature page was a copy

10 Oct Sent package again 4th time.

25 Oct Received another NOA for Wife with $625 for the amount with one year extension

30 Oct 2008 Still nothing for step daughter. Checks still haven't cleared the bank

24 November Checks finally cleared the bank

February biometrics for wife Nothing for daughter.
