Hi all,

I have my k1 visa interview this Friday approaching and I just want to make sure that I'm ready for it. I've heard that the main reason people get rejected is because they don't have all of the relevant forms.

Currently I have...

1. DS-160

2. All of the police certificates for every country that I've lived

3. My Visa Appointment Letter

4. A receipt for my medical

5. Photographs of myself and my fiancé

6. I-134 Affidavit of support

7. A letter of proof of employment from my fiancé's employer

8. My Passport

QUESTIONS:

I've printed off a fiance interview checklist which I found online which states that I require a DS - 156 and a DS-156 K. But there is no mention of the DS-160 so I'm wondering did the DS-160 replace these forms or do I need to find them and fill them out?

Do I need to bring in a DS-260 as wel as the DS-160?

Do I need skype conversations printed out to prove a relationship with myself and my fiancé?

I only have about 4 - 5 pictures of my fiancé and I. Is this going to be a problem as we didn't spend too much time asking people to take photos of us when she visited?

We don't have a date booked for the wedding as we wanted to wait until we were approved. Will the embassy find this unusual?

Is there anything missing from my list of prepared documents?

Thank you so much for any help. I'm quite nervous about the interview and so any advice would be great.

The forms changed over the summer and DS-160 is the correct form for you. It was submitted online so they don't need the form. Do you have the confirmation page?

Paying for the visa and scheduling the courier? Do that. Take receipt http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/?p=6741239

See the post after the one in the link for interview day tips.

US size passport photo?

Long form birth certificate?

Sounds like you need to review Londons list of required documents. Be sure to click any links that say please follow this link for more information or you may miss details particular to you.

As well as 'a letter of proof of employment from my fiance's employer', you will need evidence to show how much they earn. London are fairly relaxed on how you prove that income but copies of tax transcripts and/or photocopies of a few recent pay slips are usually sufficient.

Hey Anna Grant. Would that not be the I-134 Affidavit of support?

I think what Anna is saying is --

The I-134 is self reported income. Don't have the employer letter verify employment and nothing more. The employer should also state the salary earned as a proof of income stated on the I-134.

Let's say your I-134 says income of $100,000 because that's what your fiancé wrote in the blank. They don't take that as true unless there is something else proving that income.

--the employer saying the same amount

--a tax transcript

--pay stubs indicating income of that amount.

Prove the income.

Hey thanks so much for the advice it's all really useful.

Is there anything else I should know before my interview tomorrow? Any interview tips for the k1? Do they ask a lot of questions in the London embassy?

Also I'm taking cash to the embassy. I remember the fee being around £250 so I'm taking £300 just in case. It's okay that I pay in cash?

I believe you have to pay the fee online, but I could be wrong. It's $240, American. They asked us for a copy of the receipt. The information is here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/
