Tuberculosis and Medical Appointment

My fiance was just hospitalized with lymph node tuberculosis in her country (Cambodia). Our interview date for her K-1 visa is March 20, 2014. I will assume she will start medication for her illness once she leaves the hospital and will likely be treated for at least 6 months. I am torn between going ahead with the scheduled interview or waiting 6 months for a full recovery. I know visas will not be issued if the physician fails a patient with the illness. But I also understand she wont be contagious on March 20. Usually a few weeks of medication suppresses the bacteria enough to make contagion negligible. If her physician fails her anyway based on a positive TB test, can I still get an extension on my application or would I have to start the whole process over again starting with a new I129f? Help!

i dont think you have to do the process all over again....do the interview anyway...they will probably just require her to do the full treatment and then re-interview with an updated medical....i dont know this for sure but i have seen stuff about tb on the forums here so browse around : )
