Black ink restrictions

Hey everyone!

After 3 weeks of preparing the I-129f my fiancé and I are finally all ready to send in our application. We just had a question about the black ink restrictions for the application. We typed everything out and printed it from the computer in black ink however He signed a few of the pages in blue ink (just his signature). We really don't want to have to refill out these portions of the applications and reprint them. Is it okay that there is blue ink in the signature section????

Time to do a cost benefit analysis.

The first part of the filling out the form instructions calls out black ink.

U deffinatly must use black ink. U ll have problem! :/ im sorry!!!

01-08-2013 : We decided to be a couple and walk on the same life path!!!!

06-08-2013 : I traveled to the US to stay with my man for 3 months. We got engaged!!!!

Meanwhile :

July 2013 : My fiancé apply for his citizenship.

November 2013 : My fiancé become an American citizen.

12-30-2013 : I-129F NOA1.

01-06-2014 : I-129F RFE ( fee mistake - we sent 341$ not 340$ ) + NOA1 Hardcopy.

02-10-2014 : Requested expedite denied.

04-28-2014 : Expedite requested (financial loss).

05-02-2014 : Email received requesting evidence to expedite + we sent evidence right away.

05-05-2014 : Expedite request approved (we called uscis on 05/08 and they told us that got approved).

05-08-2014 : NOA2

05-12-2014 : Uscis mail us noa2

My attorney said to SIGN in BLUE which would show it was original and not a copy. All my documents were signed in BLUE and we had no problems.

Day 4    11-24-2017  NOA1 hardcopy arrived in the mail

Day 25  12-15-2017  Biometrics Appointment at Ft Smith, AR ASC

Day 104 03-02-2018 Notified Interview Letter Sent.

Day 151 04-18-2018 Interview at Fort Smith, AR 

Day 174 05-11-2018 Oath Ceremony at Fort Smith USCIS.

 

Day 1,370 - JOURNEY from K1 Visa to Oath of Citizenship is now COMPLETE!

Dont worry, there are more people here who have signed with blue pen and they havent had problem.

It doesn't matter if you sign it with blue or black...just make sure its signed!!

My Co-sponsor is an Immigration attorney (which we never used his services, only just to ask questions on filling out forms) and he suggested that we use blue ink so that USCIS/NVC/USEB dont mistake the originals for photocopies. Blue ink is better than black for signatures.

Since the blue ink is just the signature, then you probably will be fine. I have yet to see anyone post here on VJ that they received an RFE for a signature in blue ink on the I-129F.
