You're half right. I think fear is a big component, but not of racism. Black people are viewed as more dangerous than any other race on the planet. And the zero tolerance policy doesn't help because it's broad sweeping.

I was thinking more of fear of the accusation of racism, than of fear of racism itself.

What should be obvious to an outsider is that this very practice is, in itself, inherently racist. Which means that in doing everything to avoid possible accusations of racism, they just remove all doubt and go all in.

I'll try to explain this so it makes sense to you. What they are trying to do is make it equal for all students. Minority students are treated more harshly than their white counterparts. If a fight breaks out with black students, the police are called and the kids are arrested. If a fight breaks out with white students, mediation is called and the school handles it.

God you miss the mark so much some times. Blacks don't want a separate standard, but we're constantly given one:

This is not related to the policy of reducing discipline for misbehaving minority students and really isn't related to anything.

Are you against discipline for minority students? Do you think reducing idisciplne for minorities who misbehave improves their opportunities?

TM was killed in righteous self defense while attempting to murder his neighbor. Anyone that believes he was capped on his first attempt to kill someone is naive. There is no telling how many elderly people he beat and murdered before he chose the wrong victim.

My opinion has exactly the same amount of factual basis as yours. More actually, since the first sentence was proven in court.

Are you against discipline for minority students? Do you think reducing idisciplne for minorities who misbehave improves their opportunities?

Gary, I covered this in the first page. Discipline should be for all children. Minorities are disciplined harsher for first time offenders than white children.

Being that I come from a family where my mother was a teacher for 40 years, discipline is always needed.
