I am absolutely glad to update the forums on my wife's visa interview experience at the US Embassy, Accra, Ghana. For starters, the interview was quick and went easily. It also helped a lot that I was present for the interview.
We got to the Embassy gates about 45mins before the appointment time of 7:30am. The in-take and processing of the paperwork was the pain in terms of the wait time.
But when my wife was called to window #4, I could see her heart sink. What we had heard is that, that particular CO is the most difficult to deal with. But I was confident we will get an approval because of how meticulously I had put our paperwork together. To my surprise, he was pleasant and professional. Anyway, the CO said hello and we responded and we also asked him how he was doing. We had our 5-yr old daughter with us, so he asked if that was our daughter. We both responded in the affirmative at the same time. The CO kept reviewing the I-864 and other relationship documents (pictures, western union receipts etc etc). Within two minutes or so he asked if we had our daughter's CRBA with us...? I immediately pulled it out of my files. He examined it to make sure it had my wife's name as the mother. He also asked me "how long have you been in the country, and when do I plan on leaving"? I told him on 22nd of Jan and as soon as my wife's visa is issued. There and then, he said: "Mrs. Wilson, all your paperwork looks in order for your visa. Please come back on Friday January 17th for your visa. He handed my wife a blue visa pick-up sheet and said, congratulations!!! Do not make any travel plans until you have your visa in hand"
All in all, he never asked my wife a single interview question!

We both thanked him and walked out in hugging celebrations!!!

Iron Sharpen Iron!
