americans like to throw money at problems and walk away. investing in communities and education would be a full time, multi-generational feat. it would take much more than money.

your solutions, however, worry me. for as many times as we've all had this welfare/education argument, don't think for one second that the 'don't tread on me' crowd's willingness to hand over reproductive rights (for others) to the government has gone unnoticed. less government involvement, unless it involves the government putting undesirables in prison, continuing the death penalty, harping for women on welfare to get 'fixed'... sick, really.

Of course people like to get up in arms about people who have ridiculous numbers of kids, but realistically how representative are these people of the general population? Not very I'm willing to bet.

i get up in arms about 18 kids and counting. i get up in arms everytime i visit conservative family and all they talk about is having as many children as possible for the glory of god. even though they can't properly provide for all the kids they're spitting out and the financial burden will only grow greater as the babies grow into young adults..but this type of prolific baby making is okay, because they're white, they're complete church sheep, and maintain enough to stay off food stamps (until something goes wrong, like someone losing a job or getting sick).

this woman, has ten children with one man. the man was put in jail and she had no means of financially providing for her kids. if this woman were white, her children white, and the father killed or injured instead of jailed, this woman's plight might be a spotlight story on the 700 Club. instead, a soundbite that made her sound as lazy and reprehensible as possible is the headline.
