Hi everyone! So me and wife had interview last week..actually, the IO first told us that she apologize because our case supposed to be relocated to the county where we are living now..but she said that its ok she will do the interview..it was nerve wracking..the IO separated us but kinda expected because we were separated too during the aos..but this time is different..during the aos, the IO interviewed my wife (USC) first, then invited me back..this time, the IO interviewed my wife first alone, then my turn alone and didnt invite my wife back..so we didnt have the chance to discuss or at least defend ourselves if we had different answers.anyway, lastly, she checked the evidences and didnt see any problem at all..she told me that she needs to relocate/forward to our county and they will make the decision if they like to interview us again even if she did already or whatever.i was like, interview us again? For real??? In the first place, it wasnt our problem why our file wasnt relocated to our county..so she photocopied my greencard and passport and returned to me..so this waiting is the hardest.any thoughts?

Each USCIS office only has jurisdiction over specific geographical areas; if you are living outside of that area but for some reason get an interview at the location, they are not permitted to approved you even if they want to do it on that day. I believe they need special dispensation from a district director to approve someone from outside their jurisdiction, or more likely the file is sent to the correct jurisdiction for them to make a decision, as they were meant to.

Thanks for your awesome reply! If that's the case, we shouldn't have interview anymore coz they did already at the other county right? Are they gonna mail our files/papers to the right county? Im just scared that it will get lost along the way..i heard stories getting their papers lost..

You may or may not need another interview.

We are hoping that there's no more interview coz we already had one.and it was their fault not ours..we just think its not right to have another interview coz we drove 1 hr and a half to get to the county knowing that its not the right one..just in case they ask for another interview, can we ask for the help of congressman to waive it since we had it already?

Questions were about relationship like when and how we met, when did we start dating..transportation like what kind of car, who drives, residence like when did u move in together..

I doubt it, they'd probably just deny the application if you refused to show up for an interview they scheduled.
