hi everyone,

i am turkish citizen. my fiance and i are on the k1 visa process and it seems like i ll attend the interview at the embassy around this summer. here is the situation and my question;

as some of u know military service is obligatory for turkish citizens and my service is legally postponned till march 2015 ( which is like months after my embassy interview). do u think this situation could cause any annoying situation or u think embassy doesnt care as long as its legally postponed?

i was wondering if i could hear anythng from anyone who had experienced or heard sth related to national service. i would really appreciate any reply.

thanks.

How will you maintain your US residency and do your National Service?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

people who lives, works or studies outside of the country don`t do their service. Once they come back to country they do. So what makes me confused was what would be the situation in the process of a K1 visa process. Basically I would like to know what embassy would think about my situation bc when i attend the interview my service still will be legally postponed.

So it is postponed, I do not see an issue.
