Yes. You can travel within all 50 states and US territories without needing AP or the green card first. Just be sure to never travel anywhere outside the US, if you do not have AP or your green card first.

Hi! I'm just curious, if you're under k1 visa, can you actually visit other states of the USA? Thank you

You can travel anywhere you do not need a passport for. If you come upon a check-point that requires a passport to continue and you do not have your advance parole (AP) or GC do not continue as you can leave the US, but you will not be allowed to re-enter. In order to enter the US you must have a US passport, GC, AP, or a valid visa, or belong to a country that is a member of the VWP.

... and why is that?

He is probably saying this cause your actually leaving the usa over body of water even thou its a us state. Even thou we know its a usa state but others who are processing the green card etc. might think otherwise. Better safe then sorry that you took that risk on assumption.

Yes, you can go to all states within America, Hawaii being one of them.

Actually, Hawaii was also my POE and it being half-way from Asia, my fiance met me there to surprise me with a 10-day cruise around the islands of Hawaii before going home to the east coast. Good luck! :)

Yup all 50 of them if you choose! wink.png

Yes but "I" wouldn't go to Hawaii eventhough it's a state until I have my GC.

Enjoy your trip.

laughing.gif Serious? Hononlulu was our POE.

Nice!! Sweet Aloha for you soon!! kicking.gif We took the NCL Pride of America cruise, sis. We went around Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Hilo & Kona (Big Island Hawaii) and Kauai. It was just so funny how most of the time, I was mistaken as the local and my fiance as the foreigner by at least 5x! rofl.gif

Whereabouts in Hawaii are you planning to visit? Seems like there are a lot of VJ'ers from Hawaii. smile.png

Not sure yet but my husband has been to Maui and Oahu already and he really likes it there. It really is funny being mistaken you as the local and your husband as a foreigner. Haha. I'm happy that you had a nice time there. That was an early honeymoon for you! :)

Yeah.. There goes my honeymoon! And it was indeed before the wedding! laughing.gif You will see a lot of Filipinos there too, so I had a wonderful time there.

I think Kauai is the next best thing after Oahu. You can check out the what-to-do's in Kauai as well. For me, it's like mini-Honolulu and a little cheaper too, based on my experience. Anyway, you will arrive in Honolulu, may be a good idea to spend some time there too. smile.png
