Our family has an interview in march.. family sponsored. I have a criminal record 20 + years for possession of stolen credit card and was on probation never jailed. I have received a pardon and waiver to cross over for cross boarder shopping.. each was for 5 years. What should I aspect in the interview? I will take my waiver with me .. anything else? will visa's be granted?

I have no specific knowledge of old criminal records, but I can tell you that trying to hide something is a waste of time. They will find it and will hit you over the head with it. Better to come up with some explanation as to why this was the old you and now the new you would never do such a thing. Maybe you were on drugs then but got rehab and are now drug free. Bring your rehab records if that is the case. Maybe you were in with the wrong crowd then but now are in with good people. Whatever the reason, be prepared to persuade them that the old you is long since gone.
