At 7am this morning received text/email "we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for March 19, 2014"

Unfortunately,months ago,my wife had booked trip to Brasil March 15-22.So very sadly I will have to request rescheduling.Hopefully the wait for new date won't be too long considering how quickly first one came.

PS.Rescheduling her trip is not an option considering that her friend has set vac dates and it's all non-refundable:(

I went to the suport center in MD today for biometrics, and they gave me a really hard time. Security looked at my letter and said your appointment is not today and sent me to receptionist. Then the guy sitting in that chair says he doesn't wanna talk to anyone as soon as I walked over and pointed me to another guy taking pictures for someone. So I waited till he's done and handed him the appointment letter. By this time the security walked over as well, as you can see they were really not busy. So this third guy looked at my letter and asked me why was I there, I had to explain then listening to him stating why I shouldn't be there. Then he wrote "ok" on my letter and sent me back to security. As I was sitting there filling out my form I heard they gave hell to the girl that did early walkin as well. She explained how here dad is flying out the day he was scheduled and everything and that she called USCIS and was told to just do an early walk in. The same guy that gave me a hard time asked for her plane ticket! He asked over and over again, checked passport and made it sound impossible for them to get in as well. Then in the end after a lot of questioning and back and forth they were given the form to fill out.

When it was my turn, there was only one person in line before me btw, they treated me pretty rude, not a single word more than they need to, had this really bad attitude the whole time. But, got my biometrics done today! Yay! And hopefully this will speed up the process by a couple days.

Just got my interview letter in the mail. It's getting serious on March 18th. 2 months after sending the packet to Chicago. This is awesome!

Which field office are your file at? Trying to compare the processing time USCIS has online.

I sent it to Chicago, they transferred it to the National Benefits Center and my local office is in San Francisco.

Yeah that's very fast..at this rate you might receive your green card way before your EAD/AP.. Might even be on record for one of the fastest adjudication a in VJ. Congratulations man! Wish you the best

Did it indicate on the website that they had sent you a mail regarding the interview? Did they send an email too? From my experience with USCIS, I have personally learnt not to expect or rely on emails from them. I have received notices in the mail with no emails or online notifications.

Well, they changed to Testing and Interview earlier this week. That's all. No email, no texts as far as I know. Their notification system seems to be flaky, but I won't complain if it all moves that fast. A little over a month till we know what's happening, it seems like I nailed our packet though, which is a good feeling.

I really wonder why some cases go through faster than others.

One thing is clear though, having done the Walk-In biometrics has sped up the whole process tremendously. I was scheduled to have the biometrics done on the 19th of February. I seriously saved time here.
