I'm new to this forum.

I came to the US as a student more than 4 years ago, met an awesome girl about a year ago and got married in December last year. My lawyer sent out all of the immigration stuff on January 27. However, I have not received any form of notification from USCIS yet. She did not attach g 1145 (which I thought was dumb), so the only way I will hear from USCIS is through mail. First I thought that maybe it is normal for them to take this much time to send out the NOA in the mail, but after reading the timelines of all the people here I have started to become worried. Another thing that is troubling me is that the check has not been cashed yet, whereas almost everyone here had theirs cashed within a week.

Any thoughts from anyone? Should I wait for some more time or call USCIS?

Usually the check being cashed is an indication that your application has been received. In your case since it hasn't been cashed yet, I would say maybe wait till the end of this week and give them a call if you haven't received anything yet. There are people on this thread who had to wait till about 2 weeks but eventually they all received their NOAs. The weather is making delivery of mails and other stuff difficult but trust me, it will soon come through.

When you call them, they'll probably tell you to wait at least 30 days. As sucky as it is, I would think you should be patient for a little while. It is strange that the cheques haven't cleared yet, though.

Oh just noticed that my I-485 is in Texting and Interview. That's pretty cool. 20 days seems pretty fast to get to this step doesn't it?

Does that mean that I won't get any RFE's?

Wow that's great Wurstbrot_royal. Before it got to testing and interview, did you receive any changes in case status updates asides the acceptance stage? Some people report seeing changes in their last update dates. I just checked and mine still says it's still in the Acceptance stage and it's been like this since the last update on 01/22/2014 when I received my e-notifications on the NOA. Hopefully there are some updates soon.

Oh ok. That's good. Looms like the next step for you is receiving the EAD/AP and having your interview. I'm sure they will be sending you an interview letter next.
