How did your interview go.did they give you a 551 stamp on your passport?

Just got an interview date of May 15th, and it's right after our short trip, so no need to reschedule. Yay!

How did your interview go.did they give you a 551 stamp on your passport?

It went pretty well, everybody was really nice, it didn't really feel like an interview, more like chatting with a friend. And I didn't ask for the stamp. Status online was updated to decision, saying it was registered the day of the interview.

We waited close to an hour after our scheduled time, but the officer was really nice. He asked for both of our IDs and my passport, took him a while to find my entry stamp. He was really interested in how we met and how we started dating. I brought couple dozen postcards that we send ourselves from trips we've been on and he went through them one by one.... That was about it, he explained the time frame for when I will be getting the green card, that I'll have to pay for a new one if their tracking says it's delivered and I never got it, which will be around 4 to 5 hundered dollars.

But I wanna say the interview is nothing to be worried about if your marriage is real! lol

Then why do they ask for pictures for the application....It was frustrating when I saw the same picture from fingerprint on my green card.....I had hope! lol

Im filing for my wife.however.when I went through the process myself they took a picture when I did my fingerprinting and they requested one as well.in my case the picture they took was on my WAD card and my printed picture was on my green card. I guess it varies from instance to another.but dont be frustrated.in a couple of years when you apply for your citizenship like I did a year ago they will use your printed picture which tends to be nicer that theirs.

Then why do they ask for pictures for the application....It was frustrating when I saw the same picture from fingerprint on my green card.....I had hope! lol

Help I need some advice. Has anyone had similar experience to me after address change during interview scheduling stage? My 485 application status went from interview scheduling to initial review status. Seems like my case is taking longer than what the majority has experienced here? Any advice appreciated!

My case was stuck in interview scheduling stage for more than 3 months!! and now it seems it going backwards? It was processing at a good pace until it got to interview scheduling stage. What should I do?

Details below:

Currently on L1 visa which is due to expire June 13 2014. Applied GC based on marriage. Got married in November 2013.

01/05/2014 – sent A0S packet for i130, 485, 765, 131 (resident state IOWA)

01/08/2014 – received acceptance confirmation (national benefits center)

Received NOA’s in mail few days after (don’t remember the date sorry)

Did biometrics end of Janurary 2014.

02/06/2014 – 485 status changed to interview scheduling

**End of February left the country for cultural wedding. Guess my case got put on hold?

03/07/2014 – received RFE

**End of March 2014 - Response for RFE sent upon my return back in the country (evidence of valid visa and i94)

04/04/2014 – response for RFE received

04/09/2014 – notification for EAD production and i131 card

04/17/2014 – received EAD and travel document card in mail

** April 20, 2014 called uscis for interview follow up and a service request was created.

5/21/2014 – applied change of address online

5/21/2014 – received confirmation i130 address updated

** 5/28/2014, Did not receive any updates on interview date so called back again to follow up on first service request and to confirm address updated on 485 as well? Agent created service request again.

5/28/2014 – 485 status changed to initial review!!

I could be wrong, but If you left the country as stated before the approval of your AP then your AOS may have been considered abandoned . This would explain the status changing from interview and testing back to initial review, and would also explain the new RFE asking for Valid Visa and I94

Again I could be wrong as I'm not a expert but I think you leaving before your AP approval is what triggered this

Good luck and all the best

Today was my interview and all I can say is:what a pleasure this experience was.we arrived 15 minutes before our interview and we were called by uscis officer 15 minutes after out interview was supposed to be as per out appointment letter.the interview was allot less formal than I thought it was.it was more like a chat with the occasional joke.all in all a great experience..apparently the san Bernardino office has recently moved to a new location which is a great upgrade and I guess the officers are sharing their joy by being extra laid back.or at least thats what I think.best of luck to everybody.

Sounds like it went really well, I'm glad to hear that the offices seem to be pretty nice and relaxed. Did they give you the approval on the spot or is it still in review ?

Yes they did.they gave me a paper that says ive been approved for a conditional residence status (less than 2 year marriage).I asked about getting a 56258210941g2o stamp on passport and was directed to go to the InfoPass center (ground floor) and I got that taken care off.the officer said we should expect the physical card in the mail within 5 to 7 business days.I hope you have a similar experience.
