hi everyone! i have a question regarding the i-864. i sent in my husbands paper work for adjustment of status. they sent me back a rfe requesting that i, as the petitioner, submit an i-864 as well along with my parents who are the joint sponsors. i already sent in my parents affadavit of support. now, i do not work because i am finishing up my b.a. from a university and i live with my parents along with my husband in the same household. in other words, they support both of us. so what exactly do i write on my i-864? thanks!

You are the primary sponsor and must provide an I-864, you provide them with copy of last year's return, or a letter explaining why you were exempt from filing, see instructions with form 1040 to see if you were actually exempt, if you were not, you will have file late.

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96623,00.html

Also you can only have 1 co-sponsor.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

nikh,

You need to submit an I-864. Read the detailed instructions that come with the form to know what to write on it. (As Geico says - even a caveman .....)

You - and your parents - might be best off using your parents as Household Members rather than using one of them as a Joint Sponsor.
