I believe the office should have been processing all i-130s and I-90s at the end of fiscal 2013. We are already a quarter behind yet there is absolutely no news. I understand there are lags with other data and USCIS is making efforts with some transfers to service centers but that doesnt still justify the delay, if there is. Are they done hiring all the 800 people they were claiming? My concerns are, our fees are being wasted on rent on this location since they already were leasing. Second, where's the transparency. Even if on average they were processing 10 apps a day, that would add a good 1/3 of the receipts processing and drastically help requiring no transfers if at all. I would like transparency on this office opening and hiring and or if the office is functional. And the results, not a waste our fees regardless of it is coming from federal taxes or immigration petition fees.

Every time this was raised at AILA meetings - they punt

Based on their responses - it seems that they are not interested in leveraging the resources they have.

CIS always "redistributes" work instead. Kaylara said something about that agency being volume-oriented - which makes sense to me now. They prefer to fudge the numbers to show faster processing - you know - instead of actually processing faster

You are dead on right about the fact that even if it was slow they could help.Except that they are not interested in even talking about it.

AILA meetings are a one-way street. Well, so is most of our interaction with CIS no ?

True more of a rant than anything i suppose. It will be illogical every interaction regardless of how well you try to justify your case. They can shield their response on just anything. I have gone through the process once before in 2009 and it was 2 months 10 days with an RFE and even with the Haiti crisis my NVC process had been under 50 days. Bottleneck then was Chennai scheduling. So i guess crushed my expectations totally even though i had a sense of the numbers.

Also just like the government is answerable on the taxes. Is USCIS answerable on our fees? Or they can feel free to pay the lease amount but not operate that location? If they go BK, fine the fees go up another 100 bucks. nice!
