i shop jc penney. but only clearance and online. almost everything they sell is way over priced so they can 'discount' it and give the illusion of door-busting sales. same as kohls.

I think I posted this but.

I went in a while back. They asked if i would like to donate or round up for the JCP cares program. They explained they donated the collections to a different charity each month. I asked if JCP cares why do the use the customers money to do it. Why not theirs. The clerk laughed.

I asked the clerk if she made over 10@hour. She said no, and they only let me work 25 hours per week.

I then said, well if they really cared they would pay you enough to live on. How about this,ask the manager if we can round up to help your employees who give good service to live above the poverty level.(words to that effect it has been a bit)

embarrassed my wife, but I came home and wrote corporate a , this is what think of you e-mail.

I think Khol's had a law suit a while ago about claiming stuff was marked down/on sale but it was the original price.

this isn't specific to jcp or kohls really, it's the nature of retail. i worked retail (as a peeon and a peeon manager) almost ten years and hope i never ever have to do it again.
