Please fill in your timeline so we know what your working on. In the recent past. the guideline was to never leave a field blank, but on the new I-129f, the instructions indicate leaving the fields blank.

Also. Download the forms and open them with a stand alone viewer. Do not try to open them within your browser. Functionality is limited within the browser.

What form are you filling out? And also what fields are not allowing letters? If you are trying to write NONE or N/A in a field that takes a specific format, such as a date or a number, you can just leave it blank, print it out, and handwrite NONE or N/A. As was stated earlier if this is the I-129f form, any fields that do not apply you should just leave blank.

If the form instructions say to leave a field blank in circumstances that apply to you, leave it blank.

Otherwise, avoid blanks. "none" and "n/a" mean different things. Put "none" if the answer is none, and "n/a" if the question is not applicable. In the latter case, if it's not clearly obvious from the context, explain briefly *why* it's not applicable.

e.g. Question = "List your siblings", Answer = "none"

Question = "At which consulate did you apply for your visa?", Answer = "n/a (visa waiver)"

A world of difference between using that Adobe free reader and the Pro version. Put the Pro version back then for several reasons, major one, was back then, couldn't even save your work with the free reader, least they changed this. Other if running a few letters short, Pro would slightly reduce the size of the font so it would fit, third reason, had a spell checker built in.

It cost a couple of hundred bucks back then, but nothing even close to the size of the check I had to send to the USCIS.
