What is Bizzaro is, this women could have killed the same baby just a few hours before and mobs of people would have supported her RIGHT TO CHOOSE.

Because she tarried a few hours, she has now lost the support of those who believe she has the right to off her fully developed child..... and has to come up with 2 million dollars to get out of jail.

I guess whether the child can be killed or not is a little like real estate: It's all about location, location, location.

Texas woman strangled newborn son, tossed him in trash

2014-01-15T185132Z_1_CBREA0E1GDY00_RTROP

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas woman arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn son and dumping him in the trash told detectives she "strangled the baby and watched him die," according to an arrest affidavit released by San Antonio police on Wednesday.

The body of the infant, likely less than a week old, was found stuffed in a duffel bag on the intake conveyor belt of a Waste Management recycling center in San Antonio two days before Christmas.

Nidia Alvarado, 25, was taken into custody on Tuesday night without incident at her home and charged with capital murder, which carries the possibility of the death penalty, police said.

"It's believed that the suspect gave birth to that baby boy, and shortly thereafter murdered him by strangulation," police Sergeant Javier Salazar told reporters.

Bond has been set at $2 million. Officials did not list an attorney for the suspect.

Alvarado told detectives that several weeks before the birth she had tried to find somebody who would teach her how to perform a self-induced abortion, the arrest affidavit said.

She also told investigators that after killing the baby, she threw the body into a dumpster at her apartment building.

Salazar said it was thought Alvarado had given birth in hospital, under an assumed name. "Tips from the public" helped lead police to the suspect, he added.

A Waste Management spokeswoman said the company provided police with records of the locations where its trucks had picked up the load of recyclables in which the body was found.

Salazar said: "There were other children involved in the case that resided in the same place where the suspect resides."

The children have been handed over to Child Protective Services while police try to find out if Alvarado is their mother.

Under Texas law, a child under 60 days can be left in the care of an official employee at designated safe places, such as hospitals, fire houses or police stations.

A person who drops off an unharmed infant will not be prosecuted for neglect or abandonment under the "Baby Moses Law," named for the biblical figure. The law is aimed at providing desperate parents with a responsible alternative and protects them from criminal prosecution.

Not true in Texas, where she lives. Consider getting acquainted with the laws of that state.

So abortion is the same as having a child then throwing it in a garbage bin. I see. Why the F do abortion clinics even exist?

I think my point was that equating the abortion process to strangling a newborn and throwing it in a waste basket is a little ridiculous. BUT, I appreciate the breaking bad ref. Look, I get that people are off put by the whole killing of a fetus deal. Odds are a child born to a parent that doesn't want it is going to be a problem society has to deal with at some point or another. I'm for less of those problems.

Danno! O Danno!

OMG - you got the timeticks off, a bit, for the birthing day.

Regardless, the new mother could have dropped off the child at any Fire Station in San Antonio, and not had any issues with the law.

I wonder if she's an illegal immigrant?

Yes, she lives in Texas, and the laws of that state are the only ones that apply to her. It is really not too complicated. You live in Texas, you are subject to Texas' laws. Get it?

Yeah because there's no difference between strangling a newborn and having an abortion. Honestly, one of the stupidest threads ever posted.

She should go to jail. End of.

While you might be enamored by the different "means to it's end."

I imagine the baby would see little difference.

But perhaps you would care to describe the more comfy way the child would have been offed legally?

LEt me help you.

I guess she looks hispanic, are you assuming most hispanics in TX are illegal, and what does that have to do with the larger issue here?

In this case, it is not a discussion, since you failed to make any argument at all.

Either come up with a real POV or go back over to the "post a pic" thread.
