I called the embassy, they told me after submitting the required document that i am on AP, I got the 221 g , i had the interview dec 17th and since then i have been on AP, Please i need help, how long do you think will be waiting time for me to get my visa? Can i request my passport,, i need to be in South Africa since AP has no specific period to wait. Please help

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

K1 (I-129F) petition filed in August 2013 (Approved Feb 20th 2014)
13th May 2014: AOS (I-485) & EAD/AP combo card
21st May 2014: NOA 1 and biometric letter
11th June 2014: biometric appointment
13th June 2014: RFE received via mail
16th June 2014: replied to RFE
6th August 2014: EAD Approved, AP still in initial review
12th August 2014: got tracking number for EAD
( ) August 2014: Received EAD (I forgot what date I got them but I did receive them less than 5 days from the 12th)
10th September 2014: Interview Waiver received (I wished I was interviewed)
April 23, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice

I need Help, I need my passport, since i have been on AP and don't know the actual time for them to give my VISA, I am so upset and heart broken

No one can tell you how long AP will lasts, it varies from case to case and will take as long as it takes.

If you need to travel, you can ask the embassy for your passport to be returned in the interim.

what doc are you missing?

I was not missing any document, they requested for another Nigeria Police report, Medical, Tax script for 2012, contact sheet, my international passport. I have submitted this over a month now, my wife called them and also informed the congress man and they email that i am on AP i really dont understand

I got a hold of a lady who spoke with me this morning and adviced if i need my passport to be returned that i could request and state reason why i want it.

No one knows how long that takes, for me it's 6 months so far and I'm still waitin...

All I can tell you is NOT to wait, get your passport back and do what you gotta do

It varies from embassy to embassy and case to case

I thought my AP would be 3 months as the consulate officer told me so but that wasn't true

I'm just living my life and pretending I'm not waiting for anything
