Hmm...that's not what IRAS' email said a couple days ago...Singaporean or otherwise, since I'd only be in Singapore less than 183 days in 2014, they said I'd be a non-resident for tax purposes, unless the absence was temporary, or if I was being sent overseas by my employer (I'm not). Now what? Lol.

Use a telephone. Call. Talk with Human at that office. (I note I am repeating myself here)

woo hoo ! I am loving the local news , weather and traffic reports. they upgraded the electronic maps, having some zooming functions, and apparently cleaned off the lenses on the traffic cams.

Yay !

When I was younger and we had more people in the house, my mom would steam a whole garouper - my favourites were the eyeballs. So soft and silky. tongue.png

I prefer my fish eye balls fried and crispy, mmmmm

You gotta show more skin to attract them in Asia. Forget its winter, go out in a micro-mini skirt, and a blouse cut to your navel. You'll get a bf. He might not hang around long, but another will soon fill his space.

Honeymoon won't be until October time when Amy has time off again. But we will be going to Florida as planned.

Edit: Forgot to mention, SSN was all good and shorter than the usual 2 weeks you suggest (I guess thanks to the automation of the I-94 and therefore entry into SAVE, maybe?). But there was one issue. Where CBP "messed up" (in the words of the SSA staffer), regarding given names (e.g. first and middle combined into first) she managed to override it and separate them for the purposes of my SSN. Not sure how, but clearly this staffer was in the know. If she couldn't do that she said I could modify it after I got the card.

Went to the Warwick, RI office if that helps, Brother D.

When my wife got her green card after the AOS and we went to remove the notation about work authorization at the SSA, USCIS still had her maiden name in the lookup database even though her green card was issued in her married name. Some how the SSA staffer was able to request USCIS to update her name in their database, and her updated card came quickly. Real nice guy, he even dropped us an email when he had confirmation that USCIS had corrected their entry. I think part of his willingness to help out, was he was obviously an immigrant to the USA himself.

Girlfriend?

I can't remember the last time I was alone alone, maybe high school? It was definitely my awkward poofy hair.

There was a time having poofy hair was all the rage, and no self respecting high school guy would date a girl who didn't have poofy hair. You missed your era Nola.

OMG- TxDot actually has trucks loaded up with sand, on standby, already. and they've sanded the big bridge going to the Houston Ship Channel already.

[sand = magnesium cholide + sand]

Maybe I am wrong here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/466611-a-husband-has-been-deported-after-overstaying-visa-waiver-programme/page-2#entry6781492

but if he filed for AOS before being picked up by ICE and he can prove this, how did he get deported? I thought it put your status on hold?

Looks like ICE picked him up before he had the NOA acceptance. Also appears they may have sent the papers to the wrong address, resulting in the delay in getting the petition accepted. Now the question is, did he go before a judge and show his NOA, or did he just sign a confession that he overstayed and voluntarily self deport? My guess is the later. There's been many cases where ICE has arm twisted people into signing self deportation agreements, when they could have used legal methods to stay.

They must have gotten a Minnesotan in the department who said listen guys, this is how you deal with this problem. Now if they just have some drivers that know how to drop sand properly. BTW, its much better to drop the sand before the freezing rain actually starts.
