I can't be assed to read 40 pages of stuff so I'll just jump back in here. Been focusing more on reality recently. Got our Marriage Licence, we've got our courthouse wedding booked for April 5th and I'm going to attempt to get my SSN sorted today.

6 May 2014. I think I will be a tax resident for the 2014 assessment (income earned in 2013) but not for the 2015 assessment (income for 2014) because I'll have been in Singapore for less than 183 days (I'm at 126 days or so). I am gonna look into that accountant thing now...

You still file taxes in 2015 for the income you earned in 2014.

I have no idea about resident or non-resident taxes stuff. I thought it applies to foreigner working in Singapore, not Singapore Citizen.

I know that the income that I earned in US is not taxable in Singapore.

So I did not file Singapore taxes anymore after I moved to US, because I have 0 taxable income in Singapore.

I went on a website called serbinski and someone nice there helped me with the forms I will need as I worked half the year in Canada and half in the USA. I should have just waited to work. Sigh. Waiting on my t4, Canadian equivilant of a w2 so we can do our taxes. Legally should have it in my hands last week of Feb.

Yay, congrats! happy.png We got hubby's SSN in the mail exactly a week after POE, but I think it was Nola (? maybe?) who had a terrible SSN experience, so I guess it can go either way. Lots of luck!

As for all this tax mumbo jumbo, we got lucky and got our W2s early. Federal and state are filed, but I'll have to go to the office in person to do local, since we weren't in PA for all of 2013. PITA, umph. Good thing is we'll get a pretty good refund, because of all the money we put towards hubby's tuition last year. So, yay! 2014 has been good to us so far. jest.gif

I made really awesome oatmeal waffles this morning, and now I'm stuffed. Gaaahh. tongue_ss.gif

Aliban passed his written exam. Going for practical on Wednesday.

Congrats! Diego failed both the written and practical once before passing. Not too bad, but still, hope your hubby has more luck. good.gif

And speaking of international nonsense, do any of you/your foreign spouses have to vote in your/their countries of origin? Voting is obligatory in Ecuador, and I've been told when the elections roll around again hubby will have to vote, but I really have no clue where we'd do that. I guess maybe the embassy in DC? But that seems improbable, if all Ecuadorian immigrants are expected to travel from all over the country to vote at that one place. sleep.png Who knows.

Seriously. No more tickets or I'm sending him back.

On another note, this has been a record stretch for me. No tickets since December 2012. It was living in PA, I tells ya.

The driving test should be easy peasy.

Fingers crossed!

PA cops are really awful for that. I wouldn't doubt it. I'm surprised neither of us have gotten a ticket yet.

When is the deadline to fill taxes in the US?

I'm waiting for my papers to do that. I should get them till the end of February.

The deadline to fill taxes here in Poland is the last day of April.
