I think the biggest problem with meetup for couples, is very few groups are couples based.

Usually, the couples sunday school groups at the churches have activities throughout the week.

Yes, it means showing up on Sunday to get the info and somehow acting like you've an interest in the Religion,

but hei ! Instant Grouping!

Was she shampooing her hair in the shower at the time on skype? Get screen captures and report back.

uhmmmmm. what? no.... ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Mmm, but problem is when you absolutely can not handle the religion. That is one of my biggest fears about moving to rural MN, everyone will be Christian (and American* Lutheran at that).

*American Lutherans are way way more hardcore that their European counterparts, yeah most people are baptized into it in Denmark, but the majority of them are atheists or agnostics and haven't stepped foot in a church since their teens.

There are many that just play lip service to it. But if you can't handle it, that might be an issue in some rural parts of the state.

Do you plan to be rural?

There's bound to be a landowner out there somewhere who's a member of a coven. Bonus points for settling near.

Oh the religion around here is so thick it's crazy. They do bring it to a whole new level.

Happy birthday Nola and Mini T

It took me about 6mos before I felt like I wasn't visiting here, and took me 2 yrs before this actually felt like home. But I'm a home body so I live in a bubble, I did make one of my own friends, but I met her through the Canadian Embassy doing a Canada day party. My husband has his friends from highschool and college, I do get along with them for the most part but they are all super smart nerdy ppl so I feel left out most of the time.

I have no clue what I will feed the troop tonight. I might resort making a taco's like the kind in a kit :P

Meeting people especially with my schedule is an issue here as well.

The Outdoors Meetup group I joined seemed okay, but it’s when I’m normally working.

Ditto on the no religion thing for me.

I need to find a pub that I can go to with hubby where everyone knows my name. ;)

shampoo... omg..... (yes, Mrs. Darnell showed me her longish hair last night)

What is up with men and their obsession with long hair? Mine is rather wavy but reaches my lower back, and hubs likes it most when it's straight. But then he complains when he hugs me and it gets in his face. Well, duh, there's so much of it it's kind of hard to control...

I'm not a nut. I just work with a load of older Somalians and like 3 white people.

just busting your chops. You know I love ya.....

So true, my husband only hangs out with his friends from high school..

It is even harder for me, I feel that there is a barrier, like no common topic to talk about.

My hubby said, I should just talk about the weather with people blink.png

Talk about politics, that'll make you a lotta friends lol

Women are supposed to have long hair. End of story, its just how most men feel.

My wife's hair goes to her butt. I like it like that. When she starts talking cutting it short, "I say OK, mid back would be fine. But it has to be longer than mine." BTW my hair goes about a foot down my back.

The one I went to was filled with late-20's single people and I felt very out of place. I looked for a book club, but they were all reading 50 Shades of Gay and I don't roll that way.

Also, I don't knit or I would totes join a knitting club.

Try a kennel club?

I went to a machine sewing class.. all are old people except me.

Right up Darklar's alley.....

Nola happy birthday (early or late)

Duh, that reminds me -

hang out at the caucus meetings of the political party you most align with, and volunteer at every opportunity. doesn't matter yer not a USCitizen, at all, to volunteer. Many things to do throughout the month, and different levels of inclusion based on the event.

Go Go Go ! Get Political !! Beats the h3ll outta watching folk trying to write their name in the ice/snow.

Yes, definitely fishing. ;)

I meant more that I wouldn't be able to handle attending services, other people's personal religious choices don't bother me.

Yep, rural. We looked into some bigger towns, but I'm not sure they are for me. When we get to fly out there and see the towns and some houses in person, I'll be able to narrow it down some.
