really, that's why all these cars are leased out instead of purchased...

even a small benz is considered a luxury sub-compact.

People in NYC lease because they don't drive far perhaps? I don't know anyone here who leases.

Really, I thought that atrocious C250 was kind of low end. Ewww.

How does leasing work?

you pay for the portion of the car that you're going to use over the next few years (Capitalized cost), add interest. Divide into the number of months that you're leasing for. Pay that amount.

Someone else gets stuck with the car after that.

What do I know, though. I'm seriously considering buying a house for what about a C250 costs. rofl.gif

well it's a lot more than that. As the standard of living goes up, people want a new car every few years (me included) We dont drive that much. But these new cars aren't like the old ones. They won't last that long. A 1960 Benz will go 500k miles. It's the pistons, the rings, bearings, every little part was build tougher. Not now.

To get a 500k mile engine/ car now, you'd have to buy a Mack Truck...

the new C320 is nice. My cousin just got one. I'd rather have an accord for the price tho.

do they even make a C250 now?

It's a 30k car

always over the same #######. She won't place this family over her sisters.....

I'm sorry buddy. That would be a deal breaker for me. I try to be fair about things and very hands off, but when someone takes their sibling's side over their spouse's, especially when said spouse is in the right..... ohhhhhh no.

she gets all pissed off even in conversation about it. And so, I get all pissed off. Result, fight...

I told her to contribute to daughter's 529k before she sends thousands of dollars back every year.

She said "that's my little sister"

I said "What about your little daughter?"

I'm about to lose my mind over her logic........

I'm about to flip a lid here........

Yeah, that Mercedes I wanted was older. I appreciate that. I keep forgetting sometimes that I'm not dating a mechanic anymore. That was very very convenient. The Dane has no idea how to fix cars.

I have no idea it they still make, but I do remember people driving around thinking they were all fancy in it. LOL!

Yes, it is 30k, and yes houses in MN are cheap. It is a weird family trait that I am not a fan of expensive housing as long as the area is safe and nice.

I'm not a fan of expensive housing either. But housing is expensive here....

thos old Benz's are awesome. They weren't built as luxury cars. But man they were built to last!

They can't survive now if they built the cars like that. It's not what people want, or at least they led us to believe that's not what we want...

trophie I thought you were going to ND? now you're going to MN?

Same general area.

Although part of me is being pulled more towards Minneapolis. I like their language program better and having visiting Walmart not being the exciting adventure of the week.

No kidding, si man.

Because of planning to take half of Friday for Mini-B.'s party anyway, I was offered a stay-away-from-work gig all day, in honor of this lousy Yanqui weather. Having grown up in the Midwest, I know how to drive on stuff like this, but the local yahoos don't. Many people will end up with the imprint of a Ford F-350 in their rear bumpers, sigh man.

No way that a 3-year-old needs 3 birthday parties (family, preschool, public). There will be 20 adults and 22 other googies there, and I suspect (but could be wrong) that neither the expense nor the exhaustion will have been worth it, see and no man.

I heard a thud and a plea for help downstairs just now. Mrs. T-B. turned out the downstairs light and was making her way to the staircase when she slipped on one of Mini-B.'s many trains (scattered everywhere) and fell down on her wrist. Fortunately, she accepted Gringo Aspirin and one of my extra wrist-splints.

I did NOT get a siesta this eve, no man. Am fading fast, zzz man.

When Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. are in Ecu, I plan to head west for 4 days to a couple of enjoyable border-crossings, si Mexico man. The hard and discretionary expenses will probably equal the out-of-pocket cost of an air ticket to Ecu, but I don't care. The 6 rubias (blondes in my imaginary harem) will accompany me, whee man.
