so it states "reasonable" in order to not have to deal with it. Everyone has a different view of what's reasonable so you cannot complain ? lol Geez.

lucky you. It was really cold yesterday. Not sure how the weather is today..did not look.

Spent most day yesterday answering questions for job application (Oregon State Uni)...the worst thing about that is...if I don't get the interview it will hurt double since it was a personal letter and answers.

well, it's written like that because...say on a saturday night, in Manhattan, someone wants to have a party. 11PM, 12, is not an "unreasonable" hour and circumstances to make noise. If complaints are made, it leaves some room for responding authorities to use their discretion.

yah probably good idea to find out and share your "concern" with the person responsible for the building.

That is the one thing I miss about Switzerland. Nobody dares to make noise after 10pm or early mornings. My neighbor only made noise 1x after 10pm at night and she asked me 3x if she could and made sure i knew a week in advance... also complained that I had used my curtains (electric) at 5am before work and she would hear it so yah....I prefer that to what you are dealing with...sorry. sad.png

I'll be honest, I complained once or twice on here about the last neighbours, but it was never bad enough to go to the management. Also in Canada the upstairs neighbours would watch TV (which was right above my bedroom) or walk around on their hardwood floors and make a god awful racket. I could hear them talking but always told them, no no no, I can't hear you at all! But they were wonderful people so I didn't mind very much. They put up with me yelling on the phone a few times , or arguing with the kiddo once or twice, and they shoveled my parking spot. All in all it was a good run and I sent them a xmas card this year (and vice versa.)

These ones simply just don't realize what it means to live above someone else I think.

I think when hubs comes home we should have a bit of fun around the house, LOUDLY. :D That should clear up any confusion they have about the apartment being soundproof (which it isn't.)

you know what I've noticed. Social media is playing a more and more important role in getting a job. Soon, it may be just as important as a resume (if not already). Companies weighs in on social media when hiring, in fact, even scrutinize it. Such as....what kind of friends does the applicants have? habits? family? Are there a lot of pictures of parties? drinking? etc.....

Oh you're gonna play Yatze? :)

well they won't find a lot of pictures of me partying or anything at all really.I know what you mean...I applied at Hult Intl. Sch. of Management via Linkedin rather than sending in my info..honestly though , I prefer doing that...it is faster and does actually paint a good enough picture of who I am. It is better than just my resume.

Not at all like Denmark, then. OMG I remember being ready to scream at upstairs neighbors for fall down drunk parties that lasted into the wee morn.

Last time I had an apartment in America with upstairs neighbors, I think I was 18 - they would have sex every single night and you could hear the banging of the headboard and the loud noises they were making. rofl.gif It got a little better after I left them a note on their door.

My mother and her sisters got in trouble from another guest at a hotel once. They were playing "the game of things" (omg hilarious game!) and all 5 of them laugh rather loudly. They had just answered the question exactly the same and were howling Of course they were into a bottle of wine as well. It was only early evening but apparently the people next door were trying to sleep. I think the complaint was along the lines of "I paid a lot of money to be here and not to be kept awake by you." "Well we paid 5 times as much to be here plus dropped a bunch in the spa. We also have the right to laugh at a joke, here's where you can go goodnight!" Hotel management apparently didn't care to mention anything because they weren't partying, they'd just spent a great deal of money in the spa all day, and the restaurant for dinner, and were having a bottle of wine and playing a board game. Not to mention they were within the guidelines at the hotel of quiet after 10pm. So nothing came of it except maybe the neighbours not getting their 16 hours of beauty sleep.

daw... my kid hates ice skating. LOL

I'm a little worried it won't go well because she doesn't take well to new and challenging things. She could just absolutely hate it when she tries it. The rink nearby only has public skating from 3:45-5:15 today, though.

Apologies, it was quite impossible to be quiet that day. We had the german rule in place, so no one that knew us would know it was us.
