gluten free isn't cheap

How can "free" not be cheap?

This is the point where the editor in me and the cheap gringo in me have a conflict:

-- A product package has "sugar free!" on it, in big letters.

-- Cheap-Gringo T-B. reacts, "Si, man -- free sugar!"

-- Editor T-B. reacts, "What if I don't want free sugar, huh man?"

Of course, "#######-retentive" is hyphenated, even in predicate position, see man.

Do you cook for yourself only?

Nah I cook for everyone but me lol Just made this pot of quinoa because I keep being cold from eating fruit lol I prepare dinners every night and usually they got enough left overs for lunches as well. More often than not I also cook during weekends but since I don't eat meat or butter or milk...I cannot eat what I cook for everyone else.

I don't want to make the bread. That's entirely too much work. I want to buy it. I can't imagine it's any more expensive either way. I like to cook, but i'm not a big fan of baking.

I will bake them for you.

oh yesterday's cordon bleu's did not come out as well. There was nothing to beat the meat so i used ice cream scooper ...was not great lol Ended up with one cordon bleu and the rest just chicken schnitzels. Made salad with some radishes, apples, shallots and gruyere and lemon vinaigrette (sp?)....it was quite liked. So yay.

Taking a day off today and the fam is getting take out whatever it may be. Ordered coconut oil for the hubs since his skin is dry and he asked me to find it....13 bucks and he freaked out asking if i am buying cocaine....sigh. Men ! I told him it is for him so if he wants to go on with dry skin it is his problem not like it is for me. He changed his tone immediately lol

Gotta take the test for the job. I was trying to discuss it with the hubs like...what if I get the job but no dice...he just doesn't want to talk about it and is happy to know that he would not be expected to follow me for at least 6 months (although if i told him to - he would follow, so he says) and he is happy that he wouldn't be able to work should he actually find the courage to get on a plane but "he is very happy for me".

Why does it all feel so disconnected.

Anyways....pretzels. Must make a lot more of them. Gotta get flour.

i know. I told him to get a counselor/psychologist for his own sake but it would have to be mom calling and taking him there. He won't move on his own.
