Nola, I envy you. Novembro and I are in the same boat. Hubby is SUPER CRAZY PICKY and going shopping with him is hell. Granted, he always looks great and present himself very nice, but good lord, he only ever wants certain name brands and styles and will take literally hours to choose. He has some pink shorts, too, but I actually like the way they look with his skin tone. He actually picks out things for me to wear if what I choose is deemed unflattering. I trust his judgement insofar as fashion, so I don't mind, but it's definitely an interesting quirk for an otherwise manly guy.

Sooo, first day of work was a success! smile.png Everyone was very friendly, and I did quite well picking up on things. My feet are killing me, but aside from that, woohoo! Good day. biggrin.png

Yay for a good first day!

I have terrible fashion sense and well my Husband is from Arkansas so other then office cloths he's pretty easy. Trying to get him to buy cloths for himself is a nightmare.

Congrats on a good first day of work!

Is that a pink shirt he has on in your avatar?

To get my husband to even go shopping would be quite a task. He will not try on clothes and everything is 'fine, can we go now?'

 I hadn't noticed before but yeah, it is. He typically likes darker tones, but pink and lime greens are the exceptions. Not sure why.

I've gotten to the point where I'd just send him to shop by himself if I weren't worried he'd spend a jillion dollars. :P

he doesn't believe in Valentine's day or presents in general. He feels like he can never pick anything out for anyone and has to think months ahead about it. And he told me I cannot pick anything out and tell him what I want because he is not that kind of person...he thinks that is not ok.

He told me the day before my bday that he did not get me anything just to make sure I did not expect anything and when I told him it was not cool he said it was my fault because he knew I would not want anything (and when he wanted to buy me a fedora at some point in time i said i did not want one) so he did not even think about it (and by "he knew" he means "he assumed").

It is too complicated. I am not getting anything and by now it doesn't even matter to me lol It is my fault in part because I was being "cool" about it in the beginning instead I should have said it is nice to do something nice for another person and I would like to feel special sometimes too. I always bought him things when I had a job so I figured he might do the same when the roles were reversed but he really just doesn't do presents for other people except mom.

Omg this is an essay !!

Everyone has already made such eloquent points about this, but, I just wanna say that you deserve so much more than this. Not knowing what to buy, or feigning ignorance when it comes to doing special things for your loved one, those are not valid excuses. I hope things get better for you. <3

My husband is "walmart designer." Getting him to spend money on clothes is like pulling teeth. When I finally convince him to buy some new jeans, he tries on 1 pair and tries to buy 5 of the same thing. FFS NO!!! /grrrr I would dress him nicely if he a) let me pick all out but still would try it on and b) stopped caring if a pair of jeans cost more then $20.

Jonas is the same...and he doesn't own an iron, which is the first thing I'm dragging him to buy when I get here.

rant:

HEY PEOPLE.. YOU SEE THAT "GOOGLE SEARCH BOX IN THE CORNER?!?!? USE IT!!!!!!!"

/end rant

I don't get how people would rather trust strangers on an internet forum instead of doing their own research. I could understand it if they had some idea of what was needed and were simply asking for confirmation, but many post just expecting the answers to drop from the sky...

My ex didn't believe in presents or anniversaries, birthdays and every other thing he could come up with to avoid spending money. The problem was he expected all those things for him. What really hurt when he would go out of his was to get his mom something.

i had a friend who once reamed me out about forgetting his birthday. when i reminded him that mine had passed a month or so ago and he never wished me...he cooked up some long story about how at that time we weren't "as close", and how a month later, I "should have known better". Yah, sure. That's where that friendship ended lol.

Yay, happy to hear it!

So we used GPS when I went to Nanaimo for my grandfather's funeral. The GPS pronounced it as "na NAE mo" instead of "na nai mo"
