You know what, I would move for better job opportunity. You are far too talented to waste your time being cooped up at home doing cooking, housework all day while waiting for your spouse to grow up.

I respect her greatly for trying to stick it out and waiting for him to grow up. She's giving it every chance in the world to work, which is the right thing to do in my view. It may not work out in the long run, but at least she won't have any "if only I tried" regrets if it doesn't work out in the long run. Getting him out of the house where they continue to enable him to be a teenager, rather than a responsible adult, is I think an important step.

Excellent idea! It will certainly be a rude awakening for two spouses! rofl.gif

And Steve will probably be shocked to see food get cooked in his house.

I agree, Caryh. I think if he got out of his parents' house he might be forced to see things differently and grow up a little. Sometimes that's what people need to mature - a little dose of reality.

Heading out the door to my first day of work. :) Keep me in your thoughts today!

Hard to cut the apron strings when you're still in the shadow of the apron.

Have a great first day!

Well...depends on the position and the salary for one. There is other things to consider...We had spend a lot of money just so we could be together (that I still did not pay back) and I moved to be here with my now husband. Granted..so far its been more negative than positive but (80/20)....I could also hold out for a position nearby and hope that when we do move he will shape up. I don't know. I don't think it is that easy and clear cut.

We will see.

He's your husband, he could follow you to St. Kitts, no?

I totally hope you don't mean that you have to pay back your husband. ph34r.png

I get that it would be a hard decision, my husband lately has been asking me what I'm planning on doing with my degree (more like why are you bothering with it) and if I'm planning on applying to jobs in Norway. I mean part of me would love the adventure, but another part of me knows it is way too much hassle. Plus, I've had no work experience in years, how am I to get a job? headbonk.gif

I got in a good workout this morning after being sick and not to careful with working out and calories this past week. Back on the horse. cray5ol.gif

I thought that was the point in going to St Kitts?

New York Strip

And what the heck is a St Paul Sandwich? never hear of such a thing

its a China sandwich made in St Paul. Google it...

jada + mr jada and steve + tiff should do a wife swap

would be entertaining to watch mr jada tell tiff she must pay him back for every ipad, luggage and vitamin sent back to the motherland.

Hey, I am fully agreed with you idea9dv.gifdancin5hr.gif

No, then you'd also have to put up with the constant nagging.

Well, hopefully JTB11 doesn't have to wait too long (Please set a realistic timeframe. She can't wait forever, life is too short for that).. while the spouse is 'trying' to detach himself from his mommy's chest.

IMHO, I won't even consider a guy like that, let alone move across the globe to be with him.

JTB11, I'm sorry if I sounded too harsh.

So, supposedly the walk through on the house went ok last night and they've faxed paperwork off this morning to the mortgage company to release the funds. dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif

He would follow me but then that would mean that he will never work, lay in bed whole day and complain that it is too hot and how he wants pizza. I am 99% sure of that. And yes I do mean I have to pay him back. In fact, we had a convo about it a couple of days ago. He doesn't feel like I need to pay him back for food (he did not say that but I told him it was not fair if he wanted me to pay him and he said nothing so i will go with - "i dont need to") but he sure wants money for all the extras - half of AOS, doctor appointment, phone, adapter for pc that died on me etc.

Either way....I don't even have the job yet. If they give me a good offer then I will think about what to do.

I did not get the job at the State University here....I knew it but still sucks. I was bad over phone. Now I know...I have little notes to keep on track.

not at all. I agree with you. It was my blindness. I should have known better and I did not. He did keep a lot of things from me knowing it would stop me from moving (and he did confess to that 2 days ago) but I am not dumb and part of me knew and I did not listen.

How long since you had a job ?

I dunno...I could keep studying for no better reason than just bettering myself not necessarily because I need to get a job in that field. I just want to learn and learn and learn....so just saying...it is good you are studying. Broaden your horizons or something like that :)

Don't get me started on diets....I have been eating way too much....lost track of myself and just eat to do something...today is the turning point. No more binge eating (is that the word ?). Walking and walking and walking it is. The treadmill scares me...starts smelling burned after 40 mins.

I'll agree at some point he needs to cut the strings or she'll have no choice but to move on. But I think she's validly doing all she can to make that happen. Maybe dragging his butt to St Kitts is the thing to do. Gets him out from under his family at least.

You wouldn't, I wouldn't, but Jada chose to, so I'm putting my trust in her that she can get things done in that regard. I've seen guys that appeared to be perpetual teenagers as long as they lived at home. Once they were out of the home, the growing process would start again.

That nearby university has other positions. If'n I was in yer shoes with a masters degree, I'd get a gig there as a secretary, an admin staff, a money counter, or even a horse-washer, as long as it was on the uni's payroll,

then

apply for the internal gigs they not advertise, available only to current employees.

Why? great benefits, free tuition, and yer out of the house earlier .

Sometimes location is important, when beginning yer plan of world domination. Yer domiciled at the moment, so IMO start it nearby.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
