Back from a walk, that was good. Puppy got to sniff every pee and poop on the road and I had to carry her half way back but it was good ! Now I am doing the dishes and preparing for cooking/baking.

She went to work this morning. This year no big CNY celebration. She's on her period, and its a rough one, so I think she wasn't up to doing more than wishing me a happy new year. Oh and we need to make sure we don't fight today or we'll fight all year long Funny thing is, I never fight with her. But she'll get upset about something, usually when PMSing, and go into tampo mode. She calls her not talking to me fights.

But she not even Chinese....

. If it goes away, I'm retiring.

beach was nice, although, much too hot since we only got there after lunch (sushi...$200...ouch). spent an hour-ish there cycling and building sandcastles and paddling in the water. then the kids wanted to go mini-bowling so i brought them there and tried (unsuccessfully) to grab a soft toy from one of those claw machines while waiting ($12 goes by quicker than you realise). so exhausted now! love my nephews, love playing with them, but no way am i having kids of my own, nuh uh.

She's Filipino, so there's likely some chinese in her from way back. There's certainly some Spanish at one point in the family history. Filipinos are kind of mutts like Americans. So many different people moved there and mixed in.

There's a lot of Chinese Filipinos. The more ethnically pure Chinese are often rather well to do, and marry amongst their own. After over a 1000 years of moving to the islands, there's been a fair amount of mixing going on.

Is it just simple laziness that causes people to ask lots of questions about things they can research on the internet by themselves? Have they really never heard of using Google to find answers to the things they seek and need knowledge of? Do they just not know how to use a search engine? It baffles me. Maybe it is because I would personally never rely on just asking other people to provide the correct info for me. I need to look it up myself to make sure it is in fact correct, especially if it something important that can affect my life. I like to research and learn things. I suppose there are some people that do not? Yeah... still baffled.
