aaand caught up with thread. /phew.

food was good apparently. Chicken skins were so so..I wouldnt make them again unless I had a good piece of chicken like...an entire chicken.

I burned myself again....that is like 7th burn on my arm, dropped dogs food on the flood and then forgot i was bending under a pretty heavy countertop and hit my head - I had bump.

Unemployment makes me clumsy ? biggrin.png

And I ate too much today. ugh.

My wife handles papers all day long for work. Since she started working in this area two years ago, I've gone through three boxes of bandaids and four tubes of antibiotic. The box of bandaids I had before she arrived, I'd had for at least five years and it was mostly full. I swear she gives herself at least 3 papercuts a week. So apparently, being klutzy cannot be blamed on not working. Or at least with her is can't be.

Why is she celebrating Chinese New Year?

what is that...?

Oh it's a Texan staple. Called an armadillo. They usually prefer this over pork chops....

I think if I lived down where those critters lived, my wife would want to cook one up. Filipinos eat darn near anything.

Texas BBQ....

Filipinos use any excuse to celebrate and eat food. Therefore both the real new year and chinese new year is celebrated. Heck they start celebrating Christmas on September 1st.

They got that habit from the Chinese smile.png

I think they got that habit from too many people living on islands. Terrestrial animals and birds big enough to eat are pretty rare today. They've all been eaten.

The family sends care packages of foods we can't find here. What she'd really like is fresh fish and fresh fruits. But there's no way to get those here and keep them fresh. I think she's going to put on 20 lbs when we got back to visit.
