Doesn't that cost money? I don't even know when we'd have the time

And you need to go down to the Hennepin county courthouse to sign up for going to court to fight the ticket. ie two days of missed work. Doesn't cost extra, although the judge may impose court costs if you go that way. Best case is go to the prosecutor, say you'll pay court costs equal to the fine, if they stay the charges for two years of no like or similar charges. If he never gets another issue that is similar to this one, it never goes on his record.

good morning threaders,

usual morning update:

- smoothie drank (with a cookie)

- preparing myself for dinner cooking - adding quinoa cakes to the list (its cold, food must be more substantial then a soup)

- dogs are asleep

- my back hurts

- applying for positions

Mmm quinoa. I'm moving in with you, J. Lots of luck with your applications!

1. The British are coming, the British are coming!

2. Both, for sure.

How do you like it here so far? I suppose it's not too terribly different from the UK, but still, a change nonetheless! Hope it's been painless. :)

Am I wrong in thinking Americans can't get dual citizenship without renouncing their American citizenship? Hubby and I looked into me getting Ecuadorian citizenship (visas are a jumbo PITA down there) but we were warned against it. Apparently unless it's through birth, you can't be a dual citizen? It's entirely possible I was lied to, though.

My MIL has been waiting for us to have kids since we got married 2.5 years ago. Keep in mind I'm 22 and hubby just turned 23 in November. I'm in no hurry.

Yep you're wrong, USA doesn't care if you're a dual citizen. Its actually pretty tough to get rid of your USA citizenship once you have it.

My lord you're 22 and no kids yet? In Ecu you could be a grandmother already! No wonder the MIL is worried. laughing.gif

I'm not getting into this age discussion, I've got a kids older than you guys.

Girlfriend?

I can't remember the last time I was alone alone, maybe high school? It was definitely my awkward poofy hair.

Nope, no girlfriend either :)

You gotta show more skin to attract them in Asia. Forget its winter, go out in a micro-mini skirt, and a blouse cut to your navel. You'll get a bf. He might not hang around long, but another will soon fill his space.

LOL Thanks for the advice!

See, I thought it sounded weird when they explained it to me. I should know better than to trust Ecu officials to explain how my own citizenship works. headbonk.gif

I have friends who have kids already, I just don't feel like I'm in a place to have any at the moment. I mean, I'm still living with my mom. mellow.png I'm sure we'll give it more though in a few years. I'd like to finish college first. My MIL had three kids by the time she was our age, so you can understand her worry. God forbid someone have different ambitions than her. rolleyes.gif

Ahh yeah word. Never meant to say we weren't guilty. I thought a summons was an actual demand for your appearance in court. He didn't kill anyone goofy.gif

And Dane had to do the actual lp? Like wait six months between written and practical? da fuq?!

Doesn't that cost money? I don't even know when we'd have the time.

Pathetic, I know.

Gah I got you guys a card yesterday!

OKOK....enough, you Marklars!!

OK, a summons is issued yes. he plead guilty and paid the fine yes. Not an option to go to court anymore. Going to arbitrate a summons does not need an atty, no. It is MOOT to go to court. There is no points for unlicensed operator anyway. Because there is no license to put your points onto.

Summary...

Yes, he did get a summons.

Yes, he paid the fine instead of arbitrating it in court.

The end.

Its a citation here. Driving after suspension or revocation is a summons.

How many witches have you felt up? I felt up a witch once, she was pretty hot.

In all states, a "Citation" is an accusatory instrument that may contain a summons and/ or more.

Depends on which country. You can't have dual citizenship with USA and North Korea.

brief research has revealed that MN has moved to incorporate what is known in my world as a "Universal Citation" for all traffic infractions.

This, in turn, represents an accusatory instrument in which contains a summons to sppear in court. In some Citations, you are given the option of pleaing without going to court. Hence, once the fine is paid, it is OVER.
