NO, it's not just about healthcare and tracking your calls or gay marriage or prisoners in Gitmo..... face it many of us were duped by slick packaging by the Media.

In the end, the only thing we can count on will be he is the "first Black president"... and I know how important that is to some so I guess his two terms will have something to show of value after 8 long dismal years.

... Oh and his wife has nicely developed arms, never discount fitness.

Didn't OBL get killed under his watch? Or do we credit that to Bush?

Wait, aren't gay people allowed to serve in the military freely because of Obama? Didn't the DREAM act happen because of Obama? DIdn't he create new jobs?

Yes, yes and yes. And like it or not, he signed healthcare reform into law.

So, does that mean he actually did some things positive? I see. And something tells me folks who didn't have healthcare before aren't complaining...

No but see, all these things are disasters. And the jobs were created because Bush laid the foundation for that. Actually, the foundation was much stronger and the job creation was weaker than it would have been without Obama. In other words, job creation occurred despite him.

By the way, Danno. What did you warn us about anyway?

Just a few reasons why I don't trust him...

“Will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year. This will eliminate taxes for 7 million seniors — saving them an average of $1,400 a year– and will also mean that 27 million seniors will not need to file an income tax return at all.”

“If we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home, we will end this war. You can take that to the bank.”

(Some of my buddies deployed today for another year)

“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

“And we will pursue the housing plan I’m outlining today. And through this plan, we will help between 7 and 9 million families restructure or refinance their mortgages so they can afford—avoid foreclosure.”

“We reject the use of national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime.” (just not the National Security letter "A")

"Today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office. This will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we’ve long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay – and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control.”

“I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of president of the United States faithfully, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States.”

The deficit in FY 2013 (the FY into which the end of his first term falls) was $680 billion. The deficit for FY 2009 (the FY during which he took office) was $1.413 trillion. Half of $1.413 trillion is $706.5 billion. The deficit was thus more than cut in half over his first term. It's more impressive as a share of GDP where the deficit fell from 9.8% of GDP to 4.1%. Measured as a share of GDP, the deficit was reduced almost 60%.

2011? That's not only old news it's also irrelevant to the issue at hand. The commitment was to cut the deficit in half by the end of term one. That commitment was more than met as I have demonstrated using the relevant numbers. Obama's first term did not end in FY 2011 and it did not end in FY 2012. It ended in FY 2013.

And?

And... does it really matter? The deficit is only $680 billion. That's like you making $100,000 a year but spending a million. Our debt continues to grow, not shrink.

Kind of like "I created all these jobs for Americans"... yet we have the largest number of people living in poverty in US history. Doesn't cut much mustard with me.

He may as well claim to be the "darkest white meat" that ever ruled the country.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong but Obama wasn't the president back in 2005 was he?
