I submitted the I-130 in Oct. 2013 and the I-485 in Dec. 2013. Will they combine them automatically or do I have to request it with a letter? My wife did her biometrics last week. Another question I have is since we have filed her I-485 and her tourist visa expires Jan. 21, it is OK (mandatory) to stay until process is accepted or rejected. That is my understand. Thanks for your help.

You would have filed the I485 with a copy of the I797C from the I130 so they should be processed together, now that your wife has applied for adjustment of status (AOS) under the I485 then she can legally stay in the US until a decision is made and actually has to unless she received Advanced Parole (AP) as otherwise she would abandon her application.
