Hello, I've received my I-797C for my finger printing appointment. What I'll like to know is; will Voter I.D work for enrolling the fingerprint ? or they just want the passport ?

Thank you

How would you have a Voter ID if you aren't a US citizen or do you mean your Indian Voter ID? If you are doing the biometrics in the US then it needs to either be your passport or an ID issued by the US Government like a driver's license.

Why would you even think you could use that for ID in a foreign country? Have you lost your passport or is it expired or something?

Well you better get in contact with your consulate ASAP and try to get an emergency replacement issued, you will likely have to reschedule your biometrics appointment though as it could take some time to get a full replacement passport after losing yours. Alternatively you just need to find your passport.

consulate need a copy of Green card. to reissue a passport or short of residency status.
