By the way, where does the USEM instruction letter that you quoted say that demonstrating financial support using liquid assets is an exception to any rule?

^^^. Have you found it yet?

Look up the definition in a dictionary... jeez!!

^^^. There's a reason why you can't find a definition that defines "should" as "required."

if you worked at being helpful as must as you do at being annoying... imagine the improvement.

It's a mystery to me why you think not responding to misinformation would be an improvement.

 Like your comment regarding pay stubs? Is that the misinformation you are referring to? The misinformation you are stating?

However, you need to submit several of his most recent paycheck stubs

Now there is misinformation for sure, no where in the instructions letter are they even mentioned - whether it would be a SHOULD or MAY.

And as I stated in a much earlier post where I first called you on this misinformation - there is no harm in bringing them, but they FOR SURE are not needed 99.9% of the time. Of course there is no harm in bringing many things that are not needed or asked for by the embassy. :)

Get your story straight. You ignored my reasoning for submitting pay stubs and, instead, invented Embassy "requirements" from thin air. When you realized that you had painted yourself into a corner on that one, you tried to redefine "should." Then you invented non-existent "exceptions" to nonexistent "requirements," despite the Embassy saying nothing about requirements or exceptions. When you couldn't squirm out of your continuing misinformation, you predictably turned to a personal attack. Now you think that I won't notice that you're trying to start the discussion over again...thinking it would somehow change the result.

2013 ITR? no la - Manila IV won't ask for that till after the 15th o April, 2014.

Have an interview prior? 2012 ITR suffices. (yes yes, plus current annual income proof for 2013 - do not confuse this with 2013 ITR)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi everyone.

Was kinda sad coz my query brought some misunderstanding. But thanks.. not because I was a fan of the disagreement but because most responses were helpful.

Anyways, my k1 application was approved earlier today during my scheduled interview at USEM.

God bless.;)

FWIW, the only evidence I provided for I-134 was my employment letter. There wasn't even a mention of W-2 or 1040 on I-134 Inst (provided your sponsor is not self-employed), so I didn't bother. I think they want you to provide evidence if your income is not sufficient enough that your beneficiary can become a public charge. The I-864 is where they'll really start to look for stuff. You'll see a lot of "musts" in the I-864 Inst.

If you got approved without proving your most recent tax return & W-2, you got very lucky.

The instructions for the the I-134 are not what require a copy of the most recent tax return for K-1 visa applicant, the Embassy Instructions Letter states the requirement for the most recent tax return and W-2.

""k. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you..
- You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2).
- Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis. ""
