Too long of a road! I'll be in Bogota from the 2nd to the 9th. I also hope all goes well for me and also for you and steve. This is very stressfull. I can not even work right now. I'm here at the office but my mind is at the embassy.

Just like Diane said, Ceci paid the day before went over early the next day and picked it up 3 days later. Good luck and yes the weather here is great. Just got back from hiking all day in Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park. Gotta love summer.

guys, a few questions for clarification for those that might know:

1) did you send the original certificado judicial booklet to the nvc or a copy? i sent the original and my wife is getting a second to take to the interview just in case.

2) i remember reading( i think it was diane) that you need to take your passport, photo and appt letter to the laboratory, is this correct?

3) what about fasting before the lab work? i don't remember reading this in packet 4, is this something that people just know to do? or did you guys call the lab before hand.

YOU were the one who told me to send the original booklet in a plastic baggie to the NVC. LOL!!!

Anyway, I don't have my notes here because I'm at work but yes, your wife needs to fast the night before for her lab work, I can't remember if she has to take the other stuff there. But I do remember that she has to take it to her doctor's appointment.

Maybe someone else can chime in...?

Ok, I did all the dirty work for you guys, and yes that includes George because he'll need it next.

The lab work info is on page 22 of this thread, post# 316.

If you want more detailed stories you can go to page 4, post# 48, page 5, post# 63, page 8, post# 113 and page 19, post# 271.

I know the other Colombian thread has more info but I'll get it later.

you are right about me telling you that i sent the original. i just wanted to know if anyone had done otherwise by sending a copy or sent the original and will be getting a second one to take to the interview. since the embassy said to take original documents for the interview, i'm taking originals of everything like the bc, marriage cert. and my wife is getting another cert. judicial just in case. it feels like we're first ones that have had the nvc send all of the documents ahead of us..somehow i fear that we'll show up and they'll say they've lost things or it never arrived or whatever. this is berfore they tell us the printer is busted of course.

Looks like Diana covered everyting already but here's my take.

1). I sent the original DAS cert. and I scanned a color copy to bring to the interview.

2). Yes, passport & appointment letter is needed.

3). Yes, fasting is needed for the blood work as always, too bad the NVC did not mention this.

As far as docs that we gave to the NVC already, BC, Marriage, DAS, etc... in your package 4 there is a checklist

and those docs we already checked yes as received and processed good by the NVC, so you have proof there.

So I can't see the embassy complaining about any of that. But yeah, I will have copies with me in Bogota just in case!

Dude, you are done man! You will both be eating dinner with a view of the Hudson river real soon!

Has anyone in this group gone through the K3 (spouse/fiance visa) process successfully and then moved on with the CR-1/IR-1 INSTEAD of the AOS route? I'm trying to find a way around this price increase ($450 to $1010) for AOS. My husband's interview is July 23 and he cannot travel until after August 1st when the increase goes into effect. Our I-130 arrived at NVC in May and we were issued a case number June 13th. NVC responded to my email inquiry yesterday saying that the Fee Bill has been generated and mailed to us, so theirs a good chance I can get it back to NVC prior to the price increase on July 30th (by the way, does anyone know if the FEE BILL for the I-130 is being impacted by the price increases, I couldn't find anything on the ICIS site that talks about CR-1/IR-1 being impacted). Anyway, I think that moving forward with the CR-1/IR-1 process may be the best alternative for us to avoid the spike for AOS. If and when my husband is issued his K3 visa, he can just stay in Colombia and wait for the next process. If anyone has any thoughts on this please share.

Hi Dre,

Sounds like waiting for the I-130 chain to complete is your best option if you both can wait a bit longer, for a later interview date.

One thing a NVC employee told me, for people with a 129 AND 130 claim within a certain time frame, if the person has the 129 interview,

they can ask the Bogota embassy to request the 130 docs from the NVC, but you are so close to your interview, I doubt there is time.

The whole system moves so slow...
