Employment authorization - necessary if for those on a K-3 or K-4 who have not gotten AOS yet, but want to get a social security number (and, presumably, work).
Mike, as soon as you answer this question I know I'll slap my forehead, but what is "EAD"? I know about the AOS process, but the EAD is a new monogram to me.

Thanks! (can you hear the sound of head-slapping all the way in Florida???)

Hi Parkpapa, :)

I'm just curious, why concern yourself with this?, from your sig., you will have a I-130 as you are both married.

You don't need this as she will be a permanent resident (after June 6, ;) ).

Did I miss something???

Cheers!

George

P.S. Parkpapa, where is your photo of you and your wife? JK has a valid excuse not to have a photo as he works for the CIA and his

wife was Miss Colombia in 2003... ;) But this "incognito" stuff is going too far!

P.S. II. Congrats on getting the interview date in Bogota! :)

george, my wife was miss barranquilla 2002, if you are going to out us at least get it right :jest::lol: but i think from parkpapa's sig he decided to go the k3 route.

lucho, are you aware of the advance parole that you'll have to file once you're married if you want to travel with your future wife? this was one of the main reasons i decided to go the cr1 route, this way my wife and i can travel without restrictions or have to wait before being issued the AP. it blows wanting to travel back and not knowing if you'll be issued the AP in time. also, i think you have to pay for this permission to travel.

(Sorry for posting this twice but I just want to make sure someone can give me an answer.) ^_^

I have a simple question for anyone who might know. My husband is currently in Bogotá running all the errands for the paperwork we need. He took care of the Certificado Judicial this morning and will go get his Certificado Migratorio tomorrow morning. I know the DAS in Bogotá is open from 7:30AM-4PM, but what time should he get there so he doesn't have to stay all day? I was thinking maybe as early as 6:30AM? Is it really necessary to get there that early?

Thanks in advance everybody!!!

Question for the CR-1 filers.

I've read here on VJ that some people are not getting a response from the NVC regarding the e-mail they sent about the choice of agent. Others say it's taken them a couple of days. Should I wait for the NVC to acknowledge my husband's e-mail before I mail in the AOS fee bill? I just don't want them to get it before the choice of agent is entered in their system. What do you guys suggest?

Thanks,

Diana

As you can see from looking at my signature timeline, I sent in my AOS fee bill even though they NEVER responded to my email for choice of agent. You can also see that I eventually mailed my Choice of Agent by Overnight mail.

If I had it to do again, I would not wait the 2+ weeks (or however long I waited) to mail my choice of agent by overnight mail. I'd only wait a couple of days for email response, because of the loss of time.

Good luck and God bless...

Hi Diana, :)

It took the NVC 5 days to respond via email to my email submission of the choice of agent. So if you wait you will just delay your case that

much more, I think.

If I recall correctly, as soon as the system generates both the choice of agent and the bill, it is ready to receive both. You should be able

to confirm via telephone, when the NVC has generated them. So you don't need to wait to send in the bill.

I waited 3 days, (look at my sig.) and now I regret that as that just added 3 days, in general, to the wait for the interview in Bogota. :(

;)

Cheers!

George
