About the DS230 that they include in the "packet" from the embassy. I read the the packet encludes one copy of the DS230 that you have to take with you to the interview but it needs to be unsigned. Does that mean i need to send an unsigned copy of this to my wife or to have her print one off the internet? Or will they be fine with the copy that copy they sent? Thanks Matt

I also have a question... what number do I call to get info. at the embassy??? That would be great if I can keep updated on how the papers are doing at the embassy... i would really appreciate it!!!

You can call the US Embassy in Bogota for FREE at 011-571-315-1566. You can ONLY get questions answered via this number on Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm EST (or current Bogota time).

As for your situation, I dont mean to be a downer, but you probably wont see an interview March (maybe February). There is a good change they havent even received it yet because fo the holidays and the fact that it takes about 2 weeks to be received and processed...THEN assigned the next available slot. I am about 2 weeks ahead of you and they stated maybe by mid February...MAYBE.

Brad, I'm really happy for the both of you. Was Vicky nervous? Thanks for all of the information you've shared with us. Jedi... Well, we actually were NOT nervous until the crowd kept thinning, then we started seeing al denials. THEN we were pretty freakin nervous. I had to remind her to smile as we were walking up to the window, but it all went down pretty well!

We sent the DS230, first page completed and signed but second page completed and unsigned, with our original application. We were surprised to learn that they needed ANOTHER one, but here´s the deal. If you sent one WITH your application, you need only one more that needs to be presented at the MEDICO (not laboratorio, medico). It needs to be first page complete and signed and second page completed up to the gray area and unsigned. It is then included in the sealed packet from Medico that she takes to the interview.

Bottom line is, in my opinion, sending the DS230 with the application was a waste of time because they need one at medico and then it goes straight to the interview with the medico results!

Congrats again! Why do you think you were seeing a lot of denials? Do you know if they were CR1's? Was it couples or single applicants? I was thinking that CR1 denials were not too common, but maybe I am wrong about that. Enjoy your remaining days in Colombia!

Excuse all the errors while typing for the last few days.... I havent been on the best of keyboards anddont really feel like proofreading! lol

As for the denials, I cannot say that most of them were CR1. We only spoke with two of the string of them, the rest just left unhappy. Most were SINGLE persons without their spouse-novio, and one of the couples had been denied twice previously and were disputing. They actually turned then down this time because he didnt have his 2006 returns! BS!!!!!!! I think they just didnt like him, but he had a lot of bad experiences with a previous K1 who filed a complain on him and adjusted to a protected status based on abuse....supposedly...but who am I to say.

All I can say is that it seemed they were very interested in fotos together, and often seperating the two and asking questions privately...so obviously also looking to quiz on knowledge. But like I said, we are REALand had no problem proving it just in our eyes and actions. Time at window less than 5 minutes!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info on the denials. I will be sure to have photos of us together. Sounds like it might be a good idea to bring the 06 tax return also. I wish I had remembered to ask this in my previous post: I've been getting a lot of conflicting information on the vaccinations that are required and if they need to handled ahead of the medical appointment. Do you have insight on this? Party down in BAQ and have a good trip back to Florida.

Call 202-663-1541 press 0 for operator and ask the lady that answers what your case status is and give her your case number. She will tell you if the embassy has received and if you have an interview date or not.

2) If you are a CR1 visa and NVC has approved your case then yes you are just waiting for your wife to get her packet.

Once you know it was sent to Bogota, give it a couple of weeks, one to travel and 1-2 weeks for them to enter it in the system. Call the embassy on Wednesday from 11-2 Bogota time and they can tell you of the status. You can also go to the embassy website to look for whether or not the interview has been scheduled but here they do not update that real well. Others here have posted the number and more about this in other threads just not sure where.

Been a pretty dead thread lately with not much news, seems everyone is just waiting for something to happen on their cases.

Actually the time is Monday and Wed between 2-4pm est. Be ready for busy signal also, because i had to call about 15 times before I got thru. One the lady answers tell her in english that you have a question about your wifes imigrant visa and then you will be transfered to the immigrant visa section, from there they can give you more information. Number in Bogota calling from US is 0115713151566 or Visa information in D.C. is 202-663-1541 then press 0.

Thanks for the corrected info Matt and the numbers. With any luck my case will be moving that way soon. I know the AOS has been reviewed just waiting for the 230 to be finished. They recieved it the 19th of January so hopefully will be soon.

A big question…if someone can advice us, We never receive NVC receipt date and case number, but we received through email to download the I-864 , we sent it and is almost a month and we don’t have news, some advice please , we don’t know what is the step to follow.

This makes no sense. I have never heard anyone receiving an email to download and file the I-864. I guess it could happen, anything is possible. You need to fill in your timeline first of all. That would help us help you. Call the NVC and have the case number from your NOA2 ready. You are going to want to talk to an operator, you will also need your spouses name and date of birth. They will tell you your case number assigned at NVC which is different than the one on the NOA2. The number at NVC is 603-334-0700. To talk to an operator, press 0 then 5. Good luck.
