Yes your household size for the affidavit would be you + spouse+ child + 2 parents ( 5 ) so the income would be 34 462 to be at 125% and that figure may go up when the 2014 guides come out. Does your spouse work

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Okay let me make it clear coz you are not answering my question lol I do not work. My husband is a student doing work study at school that pays $900 a month. We get housing allowance from military which is $1950 every month and husband gets disability check for $486. If all those are considered 'income' it comes out to $40,000 something which is more than the 34,000 required income for our household size. So my question is, work study for $900 is this considered income? Just making sure..

Hi everyone! Just a quick question. Is money from work study or financial aid considered income to be able to petition my parents?

Work study is income. It comes from work. You can count it on the I-864.

Financial aid is not income. It comes from grants or loans. A grant is a gift and the a loan is borrowed money. Neither is income.

Work study is a common part of financial aid. However, it's not a gift or a loan. It is a subsidy to the work study employer (most likely your school) which YOU EARN BY WORKING.

You will report the work study as income on your tax return.

You can only count what you actually earned and got a paycheck for. You do not count the full grant amount.

You will receive a W-2 from your job. It just happens that the job is subsidized by work study.

Rely on your W-2 for your income related to the work study.
