DS-156 vs. DS-160

Hello VJ Fam,

1. I am sure this topic has come up before and has been answered several times over so please FORGIVE ME for asking this question, I have been busy chasing down my fiance's passport and visa. wacko.png I thought that the form DS-160 replaced the form DS-156 right?

2. We submitted form DS-160 with his photo at our interview. I just received a response from the consulate saying that we needed to call the NVC to make an appointment to come to the consulate to sign form DS-156. I responded letting them know that we submitted form DS-160 and I gave them our confirmation # to the application. I checked online and our application is online.

3. We visited the consulate today to check on the status of our case before we knew about this e-mail because we have been waiting 3 weeks for his passport and visa to arrive. We spoke with a women at window #28 who said that there wasn't any notifications in the computer regarding any delays with his visa and we simply needed to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Ok VJ Fam, should we go to the embassy again tomorrow even though no notifications are in the system and take form DS-156 with us and they would have form DS-156 and DS-160 or do we just simply wait? Any suggestions will help. luv.gif

If you read the embassy wed site at DR, they say that ds-160 and the ds-156k are the only forms you need fill out.

Maybe you didnt read that.

I waiting my interview, and I red very well DR embassy.

There are 2 forms you need to complete, ds-160 electronically and you bring at the interview the ds-156k.

Go to DR wedsite and read it,

Thanks, and I will read it carefully. I was told today by the NVC today when we called that they don't make appointments. From what we learned today if you have questions or need to submitt a forms you just need to show up before 8am. I leave tomorrow afternoon so we will go to the consulate early in the morning to submit the form.

I am so glad that this site is designed to support each other through this process. I am on the website and for a K-1 visa I am only seeing where form DS-160 needs to be submitted. Can you tell me where you are reading your info? Below is the link to what I read.

my packet only says ds 160, help!

Read the link in my prevous coment.

Embassy ask for ds-156k.

ds-156k you bring the day of interview.

If you to the interview without it, that is going to delay the process.

Everybody read this, please.
