Quake off Taiwan disrupts communications

Morning update:

Lina was able to call me from her PLDT land line this morning. Her cell worked yesterday but the connection is spotty. We talked in Skype last night but she had a lot of trouble understanding me. She said I sounded like a robot. This morning we talked and she could understand me but we got disconnected 3x in about 15 minutes. She can not connect to Yahoo IM and she said her Email takes 5-10 minutes to open.

That's encouraging. I just called Jinky on her cell and it took several tries. The connection was also spotty. She seems to have an easier time making a connection by calling out then for me to call her, but she still has to make a couple of attempts.
